We are getting married next month and don't want to do a guest book (or one of those fingerprint trees). Any other ideas out there? It's a small wedding, about 15 guests - all family.
I got a large wooden letter from Hobby Lobby and stained it myself. I chose a dark stain. Then I coated it with a clear gloss. I will provide silver sharpie pens so people can sign in that. It can hang in our house as a decoration. There's that idea.
Where every guest would get to write something into the heart.
FH wants to do a canvas of one of our e-pictures that everyone can write on. So, since I got to make a lot of decisions so far, we are going with the canvas idea... gotta give the FH a little bit of control
Since we're having a caricature artist at our wedding reception so he created a large sign in board with us as the caricatures so were going to later hang it in our house after the wedding!!Check out the post below...
I scrap, so we're having everyone sign scrapbook pages, but I have a friend who's doing this quilt: http://offbeatbride.com/2012/01/wedding-quilt-guest-book.

We are doing a guitar. People will sign right on it.
Im having people write down on little cards their wishes for our future, or their marriage advice for us, and its going in a "time capsule box" that we'll open on our 5 year anniversary.
A friend just had their wedding, and their 'guest book' was pretty dang amazing.
They had a tree with blank branches and a single wood swing hanging down on a piece of paper. Guests walked up to a table where they could choose a huge variety of ink colors. You dip your finger in one and place it anywhere on any of the branches, then write your name over your fingerprint.
At the end of the ceremony, before the reception, the bride and groom choose their colors and place their fingerprints on the swing next to each other.
They had single packets of alcohol wipes for the guests, and now they get to frame this as a keepsake.
I done a regular guestbook at the ceremony and a photo mat at the reception for those that came to the reception and not the wedding.. and also still had my guestbook at the reception also for those that wanted to sign both the guestbook and photo mat.. the photo mat was mainly for our guest to wish us luck or whatever they wanted to write on it and I framed it and hung it on our wall in the living room
