Hello all!

This is my first post (wooo) and I'm excited to get your opinions and idea!

We have booked our venue and its 2 walls of floor to ceiling windows, which are beautiful, but then there is 2 walls that we need to do something on, and if possible to make the ceiling more appealing. Our style is a rustic, yet elegant theme so merging the two has already been a challenge!

My mother in law is very insistent on draping, however personally I don't like the appearance or the value for it.

Is there any recommendation you would have to make the space more warm and inviting?? Im more than open to DIY options!

Can you research photos online of your venue? I got a lot of ideas from other brides from the photographers and videographers that posted their work online and tagged the venue

What walls do you need something on? I think they look fine as-is. If anything, I think the uplighting looks nice.

Your venue looks just fine as is. It is entirely neutral.
If you are concerned about the pot lights, I would just check to see if they are on a dimmer, and use more alternate lighting like candles.

If you want to go crazy with some DIY's you could make some mini chandeliers to hang from some of the pot lights. You just hang strings of acrylic crystals from a metal ring and attach to the pot light rim with a magnet.
Perhaps you could show FMIL some local photographer's wedding pics. She will see that the majority of them do nothing with the ceiling and most don't drape the walls either.

Why do you need anything on the walls? i dont like the idea of draping in this room. I think uplighting on those walls would be a great feature. Some people have draping because they are hiding something UGLY not because they have to. If your venue is already beautiful what are you trying to hide? No one is going to be thinking about those walls at all.
