Alternatives to Ring Bearer pillow?

Brooklynbride, on September 23, 2015 at 11:19 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 22

Hello ladies!

I'm putting the finishing touches with the final wedding details and I just don't love the idea of our ring bearer carrying a pillow. It's just not modern enough and really not my style. Does anyone else have any other ideas that might be a bit more fun for him to carry the rings in?

A small wooden box, or a sign that says 'here comes the bride'

We're going to do a small wooden box with a lid. Then I can use it as a jewelry box after the wedding!

Etsy has really cute signs that he can hold down the aisle! Or you can just browse etsy or pinterest for ideas and make your own. Smiley smile

I will probably not have my 4 year old nephew carrying the rings. The best man will have them. A sign would be cute

I have never liked the look of ring pillows, to be honest. I like the idea of a small wooden box which can also be used after. There's loads of them on Etsy. I've kind of been eyeing the following one, but there's tons of styles.

I've made a ring box out of a Harry Potter Book (nerdy I know). In Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince there is a chapter titled The Wedding. I used this chapter as the opening for the compartments for the rings and then used glue, an exacto knife, some ribbon, and it turned out really cute! I would totally suggest this idea if you and your FH are into books, or a specific book, or something like that. Here is a picture from Pinterest where I found the idea.

Yas ladies!!! These are all such fun ideas. I definitely like a box of some sort better. We are going with a gold geometric theme so maybe I'll find something that fits that look. Amber that book is so super fun! Seattle thanks for the link, I'll absolutely begin looking at options!

I loooooove the look of that spazzy and matches our style perfectly! I got something similar at the other day I was going to use for another wedding decor object but maybe we will use it for the rings!

My ring bearer brought the rings on a stack of cards that DH and I exchanged over the five years of our relationship. The cards were tied together with a navy ribbon (one of our wedding colors). We also wrote our vows in greeting cards that we had on top of the card pile (but under the rings).

I also wanted to do an alternative to a pillow. I finally decided on a Build-A-Bear Teddy Bear. I paid a little extra for engraving on one of the feet with our initials and wedding date inside of a heart. Our wedding bands were tied around the neck with a ribbon.

I love that I have it on my nightstand and it reminds me of what an amazing day we had.

The only negative is that the way that my nephew held the bear (choke-hold on the bear's neck), no one saw the rings. Oh well...he's 5! Looked super cute in the pic I have of him and my niece walking down the aisle.

I don't know if you are religious or not but I've seen a bible used by the ring bearer.

We were going to do a box, but then my aunt gave me the pillow that my grandma, who passed, made for her wedding. It was the last time my grandma was able to make something for one of our family weddings so its pretty special and I think I might use it just because I every time I look at it I see her. Otherwise a pillow really doesn't feel like it fits our style

I hate the idea of a pillow, just not our style. Our 4 yr old ring bearer will be carrying the rings in a silver rose, it is perfect for us Smiley smile

Our rings came from the same jewler and had matching nice ring boxes in one of our colors (navy), so we just used those!
