Alternatives to wood slice centerpieces?

Tia, on February 23, 2019 at 8:34 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10
Hello beautiful brides! I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out what I can put under my center pieces that ARENT wood slices.

We are having a rustic/romantic themed barn wedding. My center pieces are going to be mason jars wrapped in burlap and lace with a mix of baby’s breath and various blush and burgundy florals, as well as milk bottles (with the base of the bottles painted gold) with stems of pink wax flowers in them. I’m also using tiny wood slice placecard holders to hold our table numbers, which will be written in calligraphy on little squares of kraft paper.

I was thinking maybe doilies or scrapbook paper, but I’m having a hard time visualizing how to use the scrapbook paper as the base of the centerpiece (mainly because I don’t want to just throw a square of printed paper down and sit my handmade centerpieces on them). Suggestions? I would love to see what you have done with arranging your rustic centerpieces!

I happen to be using wood slabs, but I’ve seen some really cute photos with round mirrors instead.

I am buying mismatched floral fabrics in our colors and using a pinking shears to cut squares and using paper doilies on top of that then our antique glass lanterns and milk glass vases.

You could use charger plates. If you're crafty, you could buy spray paint in one of your colors and place lace over the plate and spray paint it so you get a lace design on it. They have "wood design" chargers too if you want a wood feel without the actual wood rounds.

Here are a few I've seen. Some still have the wood element but they arent the typical slabs!
