Hello Jessie - When I started planning, I took a look at the timeline on Wedding Wire. I not only gave me an idea of what needed to be done, but the deadlines to do so. I didn't do everything in order or meet the deadlines everytime, but it was a good starting point. If nothing else, make sure you have an idea of your guest numbers and budget. This information will help you as you continue planning and determining vendors. And to answer your question, no . . . you are not a crazy bride. There is nothing wrong with being excited and hitting the ground running!

I think catering would be the next big one. I’m assuming you’ve made a guest list since you have a venue, but if not I’d get on that.
Then you get to do fun stuff! Decor? Colors? Invitations? Dresses? DJ?
The checklist on WW may or may not help you. A lot of the things I didn’t need, but it gave me a starting point. There are also many checklists on line, try searching in Pinterest.

I’d start with asking the venue if they have a list of preferred venders. I love WW for these forums but I use The Knot for their planning checklist.

Do you have your budget, guest list, priorities (things to focus on vs tossing out) figured out? Next after venue is looking for catering and a photographer. Never ever book a caterer without getting a tasting first.

With your venue and photographer booked, I would move on to catering, DJ, videographer, and florist. These are popular vendors that will likely book up pretty quickly.

I think that’s a good time to start planning. You don’t want to leave everything down to the wire and somethings are better to book ahead of time if they’re popular

    Hi, better to start early.
If you cannot afford wedding planners, you MUST hire a day of coordinator. If you want things to go as planned, you must put them in writing on the schedule. Make a shot list for the photographer. Pictures and poses that you cannot live without. I didn't have a cake cutting picture and I'll get over it but that sort of thing needs to be scheduled.

You have to choose great food. Guests commonly complain of food. As a host, you wanna treat them to a good dinner. Start researching caterers and schedule tastings
