Am I being too picky? (Ugly carpets in venue)

Let me pose it this way, think of what you can do with that $6K...you can host a wonderful party with awesome food and an open bar. They will be so drunk off their asses that they won't even notice the carpet. They will be thanking you!

I agree; I dont think the carpet will be that noticeable with all of your decor and the right lighting.

I really do feel your pain. I had to delete a photo of a wedding dress that I just can't justify buying. After a while I just got over it. Unless you are Donald Trump, we brides really have to be budget conscientious.

I really do think the color of the carpet green and yellow will complement the orange part of your color scheme. The purple will just make those three colors pop! My original colors were just blue and purple until i found an inspiration picture which a third color pink was added to that color scheme and I love how the pink pull the whole thing together. In your case purple will be the popper.

My venue had ugly carpet as well. The room is darker and some of it will be covered with a dance floor. I don't think people will notice. I wouldn't make it a deal breaker, personally, especially if you like the stuff that is very important - service, price, inclusions, etc.

Ok, I am taking it into consideration. I think I can have it here (or somewhere similarly priced) and keep my priorities in order. My top priorities are good food, good alcohol, and good music.

I really don't think your guests will pay ANY attention to the carpet. Maybe try uplighting to draw some of the attention away from it if it's really bothering you. The $6k place is beautiful but I would say stick to what's in your budget. At the end of the day no one is going to be talking about how ugly the carpet was in the venue... and if they do, forget them.

I attended a wedding Labor Day weekend; I can't even remember what their centerpieces were let alone the carpet. I can say the cake was great. Lol

Don't start out with one of your first big 'purchases" being over your budget! keep it dim, uplight and it'll be just fine!

The carpet sucks, but look on the bright side... It'll pull in the greenery of your bouquet! Really though... No one's going to notice.

I'd keep looking, if it bothers you a lot. Skip the other place as pretty as it might be, it's not worth going out of your budget. Keep us posted

Yeah, I don't think anyone would really notice the carpeting. I wouldn't pay much attention to it. When it comes to decoration, I like looking at flowers, candles, and maybe a nice outside view like a lake. Really, nobody stares at the floor haha.

Ok I will and thank you everyone! I have two more places to visit and then I will make my decision

....aside from the hardwood in the main area of my venue, I can't even tell you what the carpet looked like in the rest of it, and I stayed there for 2 days. If I can't remember I'm sure my guests also don't have any idea! I'm thinking back to all the weddings I have been to, and I have no idea what flooring was or wasn't at any of them!

It isn't cute! BUT I bet no one would notice it! Just like @celia said! If that's as bad as it is it isn't that bad!

If you have time, keep looking! It's your special day. The carpet won't be that big of a deal for me since I want to get a move on my planning!
