I was on Pinterest looking at napkin folds when realized that the flatware my venue is going to use will most likely be silver. My charger plates are gold (From dollar tree) so I would prefer literally any other color flatware than silver. It just doesn’t look aesthetically pleasing to me AT ALL. Am I being crazy? Will people notice or care? I found some black and some gold flatware options I really like and I also looked into rental and found some as well, all prices are totally fine. But would it be crazy to bring my own flatware just to make the table look good lol?

Here’s some examples of gold place setting/silver flatware that look absolutely hideous to me and idk if I’m being picky or if it really does look weird.

Your guests won’t care, but it’s also not crazy to want matching for your aesthetic. Reach out to your venue and see what flatware options they offer. They might have black or gold, but it might be an upcharge. But once you have that information it may make it easy to tip the scale on what is most important to you!

I would for sure notice that and it would drive me crazy, however I don’t know that it’s that big of a deal to incur additional costs.

Have you thought about wrapping the silverware in the napkins? That was its aesthetically pleasing in the photos?

So there’s a possibility that the silverware will have to be rolled depending on what happens with Covid by September 2021.

Why? If a table set up person is wearing a mask and plastic gloves, the silverware is no more likely than the plate, glasses, and condiment and side dishes to be exposed to someone breathing on it, or touched. Buffets, rolling in a napkin so diners do mot rummage through bins is one thing. But if tables are set, why would just silver be wrapped?

Ask them. metal siverware washed several minutes in literally steaming water . cover the bin it is in between events with Saran, it is clean. These days in gereral all food handlers use gloves, and table set up people in times of covid should too. Ask . The only thing bundling silverware does is allow you to set tables faster or use fewer staff then, because you used more staff time earlier making bundles. It is no more sanitary. Not if your whole plate and glass surfaces are exposed.
