Am i the only one not getting a videographer?!

Ashley, on June 8, 2019 at 9:45 PM Posted in Planning 0 28
My fiancé and I have been back and fourth regarding a videographer. I would love one, but we already spent $4,500 for a really amazing photographer (worth every penny). We also want to honeymoon to Bora Bora which is not cheap and we need to cutback somewhere, the only thing I can find we can really cut back is the videographer. Thoughts?

No I think that's ok! My friends got them and they said they never really looked at their photos or videos much later on. The main point is if you just have something to capture the memories at least and you have a photographer so it's all good. If you do end up deciding to want a video then maybe you can have someone record those specific moments you want

We didn’t do videography and have no regrets 8 months later! We spent $4600 on our photographer and have amazing pictures.

I'm not! Lol we weren't even going to get a photographer (bc I could care less about pictures) BUT his step mom mom didnt agree...called me about a week again saying that my FH and I are to meet with this photographer at a time and place and shes paying for it! Soooo...I guess we have a photographer now, but i guess since we havent asked help from anyone, this is pretty cool. His parents are sweeties. ❤

We are not doing one. I hate watching myself on video and paying all that money for a video you may watch once a year (if that) is not worth it for us.

I'm not I wanted one but in all reality it would be money wasted because it wouldn't be watched but probably on our anniversary.

We’re not having one either. For the same reason; it would be nice but just didn’t make sense in our budget. We will have lots of photos though! ❤️

Not having one either. I hate pictures let alone video of myself. But really we don't want to spend the money on it.

I also didn’t want a videographer because I feel we won’t watch the video after the first time and I also want to cut costs some where to stay on budget. I have never heard my 3 sisters ever say that they have watched their videos. My cousin suggested I go and ask at the local media school for a student to at least capture the ceremony and highlights on video.

We were back and forth, then we started getting quotes and they were way too much. So we decided not to have one and just have someone video it. Well then I had someone suggest Craigslist in the area you’re getting married. I found one and the ad they had, it was 50% off! I did my research on this company before reaching out to them. They are a legit company. So then the FH said that’s within our budget so we went for it and actually signed our contract today and paid the deposit.

We didn’t have one. I set up a camera with fresh batteries and memory card on a tripod at the back of the church. I asked my brother to hit record before he escorted my mom down. I think he enjoyed the talks because he made sure I got everything else too, first dance, speeches, parent dances. I don’t regret not having a videographer but I’m really glad I still have some kind of video.

I had a really hard time deciding on this. We have an amazing photographer, but one thing photos can't do is record the two of you saying your vows to one another. The wedding ceremony goes by so fast, it's a blur and you can't ever get it back. Having friends record from a distance doesn't show you the emotion that a zoomed in close up video will.

I decided to hire a videographer for the ceremony only. I negotiated and got a great deal for two videographers shooting different angles for $900. It's one full hour of shooting, including clips of before and after. It also includes professional editing, a video of the full ceremony, and a highlight video set to the song of my choice. As soon as I put the deposit in the mail, I felt so excited! I know I'll treasure this video for years to come, even if we only watch it on our anniversary. I want to see his face up close when he sees me for the first time. I want to see us reacting to one another as we say our vows. I want to see the joy on our faces when we are presented as husband and wife. I want to share those moments with our grandkids when we are old. It's totally worth the investment.

We're not getting one. Honestly, I don't see us sitting down and actually watching it. At least pictures can, and will, be put around the house to see and enjoy

We aren’t getting one. We (well I) thought about it - and we have decided not to. I’m still considering doing wedmix but it’s undecided yet.

I'm pretty sure we aren't getting one. We also want a beautiful honeymoon and spending a lot for our photographer. I was contemplating cuz idk how many time we would even watch our wedding video. It would be beautiful but we would also need to cut back somewhere too.

I’m not. It was never a priority, I know we will never watch it enough to make the money spent worthwhile.

I'm going to skip it. People always look so forced and awkward in them anyways.
