Amazon.com registry: question

Kris, on January 11, 2015 at 3:15 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Hello WW ladies, I have a question. My fiancé wants to use Amazon to make a all registry for electronics. I was looking into it, but I'm a bit confused, and the frequently asked questions section on amazon is only making me more confused lol. When you set up your registry through amazon, do all purchased automatically come to me? Or do the guests send them to themselves so that they could bring it to a wedding shower in theory?

It gives you an option but mostly guests send it to themselves. My friend did this for her baby shower it was great! Good luck!

I think they can do either, but I haven't had anyone purchase off mine yet! I think it's just like any normal registry where you can ship to either, it just takes it off your registry list.

I didn't use Amazon for mine but I've bought of Amazon registries before. So long as you provide a shipping address, they CAN ship directly to you, but don't have to. They can do it either way. I usually ship it directly to the person, unless it's a gift for a shower that I am attending in person.

See this would be for the shower. I don't WANT them to ship it directly to me lol. Otherwise, what will I open at my shower? Lol. Thank you for answering ladies! I just wanted to be site that's family and friends could send the gift to themselves.

Well, for my shower, there was a big set of dinnerware on our registry. My MIL had it shipped directly to us since it was heavy and fragile, so she didn't have to haul it up here. I brought it to my shower to open there since she attended.

Also, some people will not come to your shower and still want to send gifts. So definitely leave the option on there.

We used amazon. People who order can ship it to themselves or they can send stuff directly to you. We had people just send stuff directly to us, because we live in Alaska, but got married in WI.

At the same time, the teachers I work with in Alaska, threw me a surprise bridal shower and bought gifts from the amazon registry and had them shipped to their PO Box so that the shower and gifts were a surprise.

We're thinking of using Amazon. When people send things to the person's home directly, sometimes a picture of the item is placed in the card so you still have something to open and you know what you're getting!
