Amazon Registry

D&G114, on September 22, 2017 at 3:52 PM Posted in Registry 0 39

Has anyone registered at Amazon and, if so, did your guests use it? I am thinking people are more likely to go to brick and mortar stores for gifts. FH really likes Amazon but that's how HE shops. We made an Amazon registry and some of our preferred gifts are on it, I have two thoughts...duplicate them somewhere like Bed, bath and beyond and remove from the other as they are bought or just take the things off Amazon. Any advice?

Yes we registered at Amazon and Target and got about an equal number of gifts from each.

Know your crowd. If you have a lot of older people that don't shop online then register somewhere else. If it's more younger people then Amazon is fine. I would purchase something on Amazon but that is how I do most my shopping.

We have 3 registries - Amazon, Target, & BBB. It gave our guests the option to shop from a physical store too.

I personally prefer Amazon, I hate shopping in stores. I definitely bought more from my cousins bridal shower last weekend on Amazon because it was stupid easy.

DO NOT duplicate unless you want duplicate gifts. Just don't. There are more important things to worry about keeping up with leading up to your wedding

We had an Amazon registry and 90% of our gifts came from Amazon (not to mention their gift wrapping is adorable).

I registered at Amazon for my bridal shower and 3 people used it. People actually complained to my mother about it. I ended up getting a lot of random stuff.

My registry is with Walmart and Amazon. I'm not sure if it's the frugal side of me but I personally cannot buy something at top dollar when I can buy the same exact thing at a different store for less. Yes a lot of name brand items will be close to the same but walmart has always proven to be cheaper for the same thing and if I could be that one bride to help my guests save a little then I will.

Plus they can still buy instore if one chooses.

We're doing Amazon and Target. Surprisingly, all of the gifts that were bought so far are from Target, but those are dishes and towels, so that's understandable. We have a lot of friends who like to get things shipped to home, or they like having an excuse to use their free two day shipping as much as possible! Smiley tongue On a related note, FSIL had only BBB and it was fortunate that we were close enough to a physical store that we didn't have to pay an extra $20 for shipping to our apartment versus free shipping to the store. I probably wouldn't duplicate gifts on the off-chance someone buys one from Amazon and it got overlooked by accident, and you end up with two vacuums. Personally, I'd say leave them both open and put items that are cheaper or harder to find in-store on whichever one is best. Good luck! Smiley smile

We did Amazon and a brick and mortar store. So far, almost all of our gifts have come from Amazon. I guess every crowd is different.

We're doing Amazon, but it's easier for our guests as most are out of town. That way they can just ship to us

We did, and it got more use than the two physical store registries we did.

Amazon is the easiest, that is what we are using for our small registry. I known whenever anyone I know has an Amazon registry, that is my go to. Prime shipping, yes please! :-)

We only registered with Amazon (very small registry). We weren't planning to do a registry (and tried to spread by word of mouth that we didn't want any gifts), but we had a ton of people asking and had a lot of pressure from family. So we picked some items to upgrade and kept it simple by only having one registry. ETA - we received 24 of the 25 items on our registry.

Happy with Amazon. I wouldn't duplicate because you don't want two of things.

We registered at BBB and Amazon. Most of our amazon gifts came from people that can't make it to the shower or wedding, and even then only 4 have been purchased. More people used our BBB registry, but the two showers I can't remember had so far have consisted of older family members/church people.

Thank you everyone. We have some items on Amazon, registered at BBB tonight and did linens and dishes at Macy's. Whatever we get, we get. I'll probably be given a shower at work after my family/friend one and I'll tweak things depending on which registry people use. As someone who is uncomfortable with this gift getting, I am really over thinking it. Registry gifts will likely only be for shower as most people here gift cash for the wedding.

I made an amazon registry I think it's amazing. The guests order from there and it ships to your house. I didn't duplicate. I'll see how well it works when I get married. I feel as though young ppl are more likely to use it
