I was originally going to use Amazon and it was very user friendly for me 😊 you will get a link to put on your website making it easy for guests and group gifts are super simple too!

I used it and only had one little issue with a third party vendor sending one gift to another state but Amazon customer service was very very helpful and I’m in the process of getting that solved. Other then that it worked out super well because people could just mail us our gifts and being 10 hours away from my whole family it was extremely helpful. I think for the older people it was a little confusing but they were able to figure it out. 😁😁

We used Amazon and it was great. If you can use their site or app, you can shop from a registry. You would tell people about your registry the same way as any other store; word of mouth. You could also mention it on your wedding website and, if you’re having a shower, on the shower invitations.

As Chelsea said, Amazon gives you a link to the registry, but people can also search by either person's name and you can even add your wedding date and/or location to help people narrow it down if you or your future spouse has a common name (mine does). The one thing I didn't like when setting ours up was that it was difficult to find some nice household things on there (ex. For most of the nice dinnerware sets the reviewers say they arrive broken a lot). But there is the advantage of being able to add a wide variety of things and if your guests have Amazon prime they get free shipping.

They also have a system that gives you an idea of how many gifts to add in various price points based on your expected number of guests, and I found that very helpful lol.

We used Amazon and it was great. Most people have a Prime account, or at least a regular Amazon account. So I feel many people prefer purchasing from Amazon. We attached our registry to our wedding website so people could easily access it.

We used it and liked it because we’ve had our house for a few years already so it was good for odds and ends you can’t usually find on the typical sites. And we put our link on our wedding website and when shower invites went out, it stated where we were registered as well.

I want to add one thing that I find frustrating about Amazon's registry. First, I like it - it was very easy to set up and I agree I like how you can browse by price point to make sure you have a good mixture on there.

What I hate - they email you when something is bought. If you open the email, you immediately see what has been purchased. So, if you want any level of surprise, don't open the e-mails!!! Along with that, the gifts come in regular Amazon boxes, so if you are anything like me and an Amazon delivery is not an unexpected thing, you may not know it is a gift and then open it...again ruining the surprise. There isn't always an easy way to know if it is something you bought vs a present. Amazon sends me alerts on my phone now when it is something I have personally bought to let me know when it has been delivered, so that has made it a little easier. But if opening gifts together and being a surprise is important to you, just know you may have a few whoopsies and open them without realizing it.

I made a whole new account because I'm using a new email for all wedding stuff. But you get a bigger completion discount if you have Amazon prime so I'd just use your regular account if you do. (We share our Amazon prime with multiple family members so it wasn't a good option for us).

That's good to know that you lose the level of surprise with the Amazon registry! We sent ours up very recently and our wedding isn't until next fall so I hadn't encountered that. I really appreciate the warning!
