If you're requiring that they have their hair and makeup done professionally, you should pay for it. If it isn't in your budget, have them do their own hair and makeup.

That's the general rule, but given that you paid for their dresses, I think there's some wiggle room. Ask them if they can afford to pay for it to be done professionally, they may be all for a little splurge for pampering the day of. If they can't, no hard feelings and let them do it themselves.

If this is optional, like you are not requiring them to have it professionally done then that's fine. If you are making them have it done they you should be paying. My girls are paying for their dresses and hair and makeup and their nails (if they choose to have this done).

I told my girls IF they wanted their hair/makeup done professionally, they would have to pay for it but they were free to do each others if they were comfortable doing so. If it's a requirement, it should be in your budget.

100% agreed with PPs - generally speaking, if you're requiring them to have hair/makeup/nails done, you should pay for it. I still stand by this even though you paid for the dresses, so if I were you, I'd offer to set up hair and makeup appointments if they want to pay for it, and let them do their own hair and makeup otherwise. If you have it in your budget, you could also offer to pay half for the services to save a little.
