Hi all!
We're not having any kids at our wedding, except for one infant in the wedding party: my sister's baby girl, my niece, who will be 9 months old at the time of the wedding (which is in 3 months). My niece is a little rock star, she's super social and very comfortable in crowds (my sister and her husband are high-profile professional dance teachers, and the baby sometimes attends events, and she just eats up the attention). My niece is also rather advanced in terms of development, so while she (probably) won't be walking, she can still manage herself well (I'm an infant/ young childhood occupational therapist specializing in development - and there is an actual possibility she could be cruising/ walking short distances with support by then..)
So my questions: Is 9 months too young for a flower girl? What are some ways you picture this working? My sister is my MOH, so she will be standing up with me. She suggested her husband walk down the aisle with the baby, who can maybe throw (or eat) a few petals and look cute, then be seated or leave the area if she's fussing. My FH actually HATES my sister's husband, so he's not totally thrilled with the idea this man walking down the aisle in any capacity, so that's a bit of an issue. He also said that this is about us and our relationship, and he doesn't really know if he wants the baby / my sister's husband to "steal the show"... My mom and sister are so completely into to the idea of my niece being the flower girl. Any suggestions or ideas?
