So for the longest time I've been excited about finally seeing my dress come to life by getting it custom made through Anomalie. I wasn't having much luck with in store shopping but now I need to try it again because I'm pretty disappointed in my dress. I've already emailed them about getting a refund (their site swears by refunds). It just wasn't what I thought it was going to be. It was great in theory but I'm just not happy with it at all.

PLEASE NOTE: This is my personal experience and I am in no way bashing the company or what they do. I've seen and talked to other women who got their dress from Anomalie and they look beautiful. It just wasn't meant for me.

Please don't freak out. I personally just happened to have a disappointing experience. I've seen photos of other real life brides on this platform that had a wonderful experience and their dress is gorgeous.

If worst comes to worst, you'll just have to send them a photo of the front and back and mention what you don't like. I got ALL my money back. I do wish you the best of luck with your dress and would love to see an update!

I definitely agree that you should get a refund because it doesn't have the same feel as the sketches at all. I actually had a similar thing happen to me. I commissioned a local seamstress to custom-make my dress. she was supposed to have it finished by July for my late October wedding. however, I didn't get it until the first of October and it was NOT what I expected at all. it looked like she rushed, and just was not at all like the sketches I had made for her. I literally did not have time to have her try to fix it (nor did I really want to), so long story short, I ended up buying an entirely new dress off the rack 3 weeks before my wedding. (!!!) I also had not had much luck in stores when I had looked previously, which is why I decided to go custom, but I literally found the dress of my dreams at the first store I went to when I was scrambling to figure out what to do. keep your options open and try looking in stores again! since it's a new season they probably have a lot of new styles out. if you can find a store that sells off the rack, a lot of times they will give you a discount for selling the floor model! good luck - I know all too well how stressful it is!

Thank you so much! I went through the same as far as not having luck. I finally found my dress at the last store I tried on dresses. It happened to be the very last dress I tried on and it was a wrap. I haven't made a post about it yet because the sample dress fit kind of weird up top. I'm just going to wait until I get the dress to post an internet worthy photo lol. Luckily, they're allowing me to make monthly payments for the next few months so I'm not stressing over coming up with such a huge deposit. Hopefully I don't end up having dress regret because I know that's real too. I've seen it too many times on here!

Oh, that's great! I think once you get it altered to fit, you will feel so much better. mine was 4 sizes too big when I got it (my seamstress was literally a miracle worker) so it was honestly really hard to tell how it would actually fit, and I didn't feel like I had that "OMG this is THE dress" moment since I was literally just desperate to buy anything better than my first disaster dress. I think I finally had that wow moment once I had my final fitting (two days before my wedding... lol). I'm sure you will be beautiful in it, especially when you compare it to your first dress!

Thank you! I'm excited. It'll be a little while before I get it so I'm just here twiddling my thumbs lol. That's crazy that your final fitting was 2 days before your wedding. I'm glad everything still worked out for you though. I can't even image the amount of stress on such a time crunch.

I can see what you mean. Well, first of all, best of success on the refund process...and at least you've still got time to find your perfect dress. Meanwhile, you can either gift the dress away or sell it...perhaps a local boutique would be willing to buy it from you?

I'm so sorry.... I just started (last week) looking for a dress and one of the things I did was go to the bridal shops and try on the styles I was looking for then order the dress myself online.

The dress I found at the bridal shop and loved was / is over $1500 (while in most cases not terribly priced, but in the grand scheme, I'd like to spend that money elsewhere). I found the almost exact same dress for less than 1/4 of the price. I did not choose to have it custom sized for me, as I wanted to take it to my own seamstress. Anyway, this is something to keep in mind and hopefully keep your costs down. Smiley smile

One of the things the bridal shop has said... with coronavirus on the rise, dresses are taking at best 6 months to deliver. My special order is currently at 3 months (crossing fingers it arrives with plenty of time for my seamstress).

    Good luck on your hunt!
