Another David's Bridal poor service review

Kari, on June 2, 2020 at 10:18 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 2 6

My MOH purchased her dress from David's Bridal in early January, and it was supposed to come in by early April. Our wedding was May 30th. Things have been shut down and delayed for a while due to Covid, and she has heard nothing from them about her dress, despite trying to get updates from them several times since early April, when the dress was due. She reached out to them when everything started to shut down in late March and they said her dress was right on schedule, and then heard nothing from them throughout April and May. She last reached out to them early last week (May 26th) to check on the status of her dress and no one would answer the phones or communicate with her. Then on May 30th she got an email from them saying her dress was at the store and they would ship it to her. Keep in mind, when David's orders your dresses they record what the wedding date is at the time you place the order, so they had on record that the wedding was that day.

She told them the wedding was that day and she didn't want the dress anymore, but they said she couldn't return it until the store she purchased it from opened back up, and then she'd have just a 14 day window in which to return it. She asked when the store would open, and they said they didn't know, and she asked if she would be notified when the store opened and they told her no, she needed to call back and check daily/weekly on her own.

She ended up not having anything that went with our wedding colors so her look actually clashed with everyone else's and she didn't even look like a part of the wedding party for our minimony. Her dress was delayed by nearly two months and she got zero communication from David's.
I'm so glad it wasn't my wedding dress and feel really awful for all of the brides getting screwed by this chain. They really don't care about customers at all.

This is absolutely sad. One of my bridesmaids is the only one that has not received her dress and now I am starting to get concern due to all the stories I've read about them.. I am so sorry this happened to your MOH

Hence, why I'm having my bridesmaids wear infinity dresses.

I've been having problems with David's Bridal too. One of my bridesmaids order their dresses back in late Feb and have still yet to receive them. Our David's Bridal just opened up again yesterday, so I will be making a few phone calls figuring this out.

My bridesmaids dress came in on time, but I had it shipped to her. I just returned a wedding dress without issue. I think different stores are handling things differently.

There were so many points during this entire transaction where they could have proactively reached out to her and ensured that she got a dress in time for our wedding. I'm absolutely disgusted by the lack of compassion they showed - they didn't even apologize that the dress came late and couldn't understand why she was upset that she didn't have anything to wear for the wedding that was THAT SAME DAY. We understand that the world is a hot mess right now, but she shouldn't have to call the store on a regular basis to find out when they open back up - at the very least they should be able to email her (and the other hundred customers probably in the exact same situation) when the store opens so that she can process her return and get a refund. From a logistical standpoint that's actually really easy to do - all of the customer email addresses, order information, and important dates are already in their system. For us that was the final straw - the fact that David's has dropped the ball on everything thus far and won't even do a darn thing to provide any service to customers they have already inconvenienced.

Sorry to hear that. But sadly, I’m not surprised! I mean, it’s David’s Bridal. 🤷🏽‍♀️
