Another word for blessing?

shortkitty, on June 10, 2018 at 12:48 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5

We are having a secular wedding but really love and would like to include the reading called "Blessing of the Hands." The actual reading itself does not include the word "blessing" or have anything religious in it, but we'd like to re-title it for our ceremony programs so as to avoid the word "blessing." Any idea what we could write down instead? Or do we need to include the title at all?

A lot of people call it a "Hands Ceremony" instead of blessing.

Check an online thesaurus. You might find a word there that would work in the place of blessing.

Blessing is not really a religious word. I'd would use it. Hand ceremony sounds odd.

A hand fastening ceremony? Is that what a hand blessing is?

Officiant ties a rope around you and FH hands in a figure 8 knot, "these are the hands that will hold you in times of pain" type speech?

If so, FH and I are doing one and we are calling ours a hand fastening.
