Any advice for Men's Wearhouse tomorrow?

MrsLabrec, on April 21, 2017 at 7:53 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 47

Tomorrow we have our first appointment at MW to browse suits and get ideas.

We are going to purchase.

We are looking at gray and navy suits.

I went there with my FH's tux rental and they gave us the most expensive suit and tried to get us to add on everything that cost money. Just be aware of pricing if you're on a budget! Smiley smile

We got my husbands clothes for our beach wedding there and his suit for a wedding he was in and it is super, super expensive there. Check for online coupons first. Sign up for the email tonight and see if they send you a coupon.

Husband rented a tux. The plan was to rent a suit, but they didn't have rentals in the dark slate grey I wanted. So for $20 more he got a tux. Looked great. Very happy.

    They are so nice there.

Depends on which store you go to. We had MAJOR problems with the Allen, TX location and even a ton of problems with their corporate customer service. BUT we did end up getting the suits we ordered and had a better experience once we went to 2 diff locations AND got someone from corporate that actually took responsibility for the issues we had and followed up with us everyday until we got the suits fitted and altered.

If you're planning to buy, MW is really expensive for what you get. You might be better off looking at somewhere like Macy's, Jos A Banks, or even Kohls. They'll likely have better deals, especially with coupons!

My DH rented, but they had a price matching option available so if we found anything at a lower price anywhere else they were willing to match that price. I'm not sure if they do the same thing with buying, but it might be worth it to look into!

    Following this thread!

We're doing MW, but only for the GM. Since they live in different states, we figured it would be the best rental option in both areas. FH bought a suit from J. Crew, and we're headed to MW this weekend to look at options for the GM that work with the suit he bought.

Literally just got home from MWH. We had a horrible experience so far. They have messed up alot of things for us. I would never suggest them to anyone! But not all of the MWH stores are as bad as the one we went to!! Good luck and make sure they write down the colors, sizes etc the correct way!!

If you're going in with a budget and looking to buy make sure to tell them as soon as you get there. If there is a sale going on (there usually is, especially if you're buying multiple similar items) ask if they will honor the price you're getting that day when you set up a retail group. This is a huge saver if you have groomsmen that will be buying things later.

We had a better experience at Jos A Banks so if you have one locally, consider going there too. We got a much nicer suit for slightly less price than the crappier options men's warehouse showed us.

Edit: My FH's groomsmen are all in different cities. Jos A Banks is pretty widespread and they set up suit purchases similar to how men's warehouse does.

    FH just

Bought a grey suit customs to him. He said it was like $500 I wasn't with him since I worked so I don't even know what it looks like and of course he didn't take pictures. Guess he will be as much of a surprise to me and I am to him with my dress haha.

Grey tuxes are only 2 options. I didn't like their navy color choices.

The guys rented grey suits a lighter shade than FHs.

We went there last weekend. It wasn't a full store, just a rental place. It was.... odd. We'd already looked online and pretty much knew what we wanted for our groom and GM, but we were finding them mixing and matching things from different lines (we wanted light gray pants and dark gray vests. This seemed to confuse them a lot. An hour later we think we have everything done but I'm really not fully confident about that. I'm a little worried we won't end up with the right pieces, but FH says he's got this. So I'm going to just let him deal with it and hope for the best.

My FFIL just got re-married in October and they went for tuxes and did their tux alterations there. They over charged them and the tuxes were still a little too big for the wedding. The only thing I know for sure when it comes to my FH's attire is that I will not be going to MW.

We ended up with Joseph A Bank bc they had a better deal even though they're basically the same company.

Check prices online too bc sometimes the store doesn't reflect it.

We went to two different Men's Warehouses and two different Joseph A Banks. Each was a different experience.

We ended up with Navy suits for $199 ea. We had to order all at once, but FH got rewards for the amount spent in the mail.

FH will be wearing navy on our wedding day, but on MH's site, they only have one navy option. Please update me if you find more than just one navy option!

FH, FIL and GM went to K&G (not sure if you live near a K&G) They have an excellent package for wedding parties. Suits were $100, minus alterations. FH, FIL, GM are able to keep the suits instead of renting. I love them!
