First and foremost, CONGRATULATIONS! First, get a solid budget. This will determine your guest list, venue(s) flowers, food, etc. Once you have your budget, get you guest lists. This will be a huge factor regarding your venue, menu, invitations, cake, etc. After that, consider whether or not you are going to have a theme and if so what it will be. Once you have that, start looking for venues.

I know you want to start choosing your wedding party, but you REALLY want to wait to do this. You want to choose people who are happy for you not just now, but down the road.

Welcome & congrats! My advice is to not go crazy with excitement taking everyone's ideas at the beginning because then they will force them on you the entire time! Be clear on your vision & then tell them!

Ditto on what everyone had said, I would just add, shop around, Ebay has been my best friend thru this whole planning process. Everything I've bought had been brand new, unopened at fractions of the cost, also google ideas, save them on ur computer, start a wedding folder. You are going to fall in love with so many ideas, so don't shop until you get ur vision in ur head, and once you do, don't second guess ur self... Don't sweat the small details cause in the end, all that matters is you both show up and say your i do". Congratulations, and happy planning! We are all here for you.
