I don't live in Boston (anymore), but I just wanted to say I love this idea. I got a caramel apple at a wedding once and it was the best favor I've received!

I'm a MA bride too! You could contact an apple orchard and see if they make them and could sell them to you in bulk. This place http://www.idylwildefarm.com/ has great caramel apples too. You'd probably have to pick them up though, but you could call and ask about making a large number of them for you.

I was going to do this but ended up changing my mind. However I will have some as part of the deserts for the desert table. The supermarkets in my area usually sell them in the fall. I think they are about 4 bucks for a pack of 3.

I was thinking of buying them from a supermarket! Just buy cello bags and tie them with twine? Probably my cheapest option. Going to need about half the # of guests because they are going to be spread all around my trick or treat candy bar!

I wanted to do caramel apples SO badly- but it really doesn't work well to DIY because you pretty much have to do them the morning of/night before or else they go bad very quickly.

You have so much else to worry about so unless you can buy them in bulk for that exact date somewhere cheap I'd stay away.

It's such a bummer for me I wanted them SO SO SO much...

Great Idea. I live in Mass.I would say look at the food clubs and see if you can put in an order.

I'm not doing this but I went to a wedding last year that did this. They bought them at a BJs/Costco type place so it was pretty cheap to buy in bulk.
