I'm moving to NY to be with my fiance. I am too nervous, scared, but I know being with him and not so far away anymore, I everything will be better.

I couldn't imagine this! my future husbands family lives 45 minutes away in the next town... so he has no problems living in my town, but I am totally family orientated and I would move from my family for the world... I love my FH but that is one thing I won't do... so we go visit his family once a week!

I moved to Japan to be with my DH. We got married, went to Hawaii on our honeymoon then went directly to Japan. (i.e. I had all of my luggage to move on our honeymoon with us). Fortunately I like to travel so it hasn't been nearly as difficult as I expected. I'm also super close with my family so I make sure to call home every week and catch up. I've found that home is wherever DH is, so whether that is Japan (where DH works), California (where we are both from), Chicago (where I go to school), or Ireland (where I'll do research) or Florida (where his family lives), as long as we are together, I am home.

Good luck and think of it as a grand adventure for the start of your new life together! Focus on the new family that you are forming, keep in touch with your family, and have a blast!

I moved from NJ to VA to be with my FH. Home is where we live but I do miss my mom and friends. I talk to my mom everday, friends often and visit every 2 months.

I'll be moving from my family after my wedding finishes, but my hope is getting my FH living together withouht his family as well, and visit them every weekend. Actually, I'm too nervous to living with them as I'm so afraid any contradictory easily occurried, then we'll destroy our relationships.

    Good luck every one here.

No, but my FH will be moving 4 hours from his family to me in DC, because that is where my job is. He has a lot of big changes coming up.

FH will be getting a new job in December in San Antonio so after I sell my house around March, I will have to move from Arkansas to San Antonio. It's pretty scary!

It was before we were married... but yes I left my PT Recording studio job and my FT office job to move from Tn to Wa state with him. I knew NO ONE. just him, we stayed at his parents house for a month before we got our first apt together. That was also the first time i ever met his parents, lol... it was scary.. leaving home in general is scary, its ok to be scared. Doesnt mean you dont love him, its natural. Just think of the new friends you'll make... and the new experiences you'll have! (((HUGS)))

I'm from IL and I'll be moving to KS where my FH lives... I'm soooo nervous and scared! i love my FH to death, but his family is rude and we don't get along with them, but they will be the only one's i know down there so it makes me nervous! I'm very close to my family, especially after my parents divorce and I've never been away from them! I've lived in the same place, same house and been around the same people for almost 18 years... so it definitely makes me nervous! but on the other side I'm looking forward to the challenge and adventure that will go with the move Smiley smile
