Any brides out there with super short hair??

Jen, on October 1, 2020 at 1:54 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 9

Need some inspiration and ideas from fellow brides with short hair please!! Any photos of your own bridal styles or any you have found online that you could share would be so helpful!!

I have an asymmetrical pixie cut, it’s long on one side and very short all around on sides and back. (SEE FIRST PHOTO) I’ve had it for a few years now. My plan was to grow my hair out and I have been trying to for the last year but due to stress or other things I am maybe not aware of it is not growing and it’s also thinning out. I tried to part it down the middle to let the sides and back grow underneath it but it looks even more thin and unhealthy that way. The fact that the under part will not be where I want it in time for the wedding has me worried. My fiancé and myself prefers my hair short. And I don’t think it is very flattering on my face shape parted down the middle either. SO...I have decided to just embrace my short hair, as apparently it’s just more “me” and find a bridal style that I love. I am not a big makeup person but will probably go big on the makeup on the big day as I think it will help offset the short hair. I did some playing around last night and although I am not good with a curling iron you can get the idea (SEE SECOND PHOTO). I will have a much fancier hairpiece and tighter curls for the big day. I am going to try and grow the sides and back a bit longer but with the way my hair grows I doubt it will get more than 2 inches longer in the next year when we get married. Also due to Corona my hi lights went away but I plan to lighten my hair back up prior the wedding as well.

I think the style you did is very nice! It looks like a lot of Pinterest photos I’ve see. I’ve searching Pinterest daily because I chopped my hair off the first week of March and have been desperately trying to grow it out for our November ceremony. Are you going to have to professionally styled the day of? A hairstylist might have better suggestions for growing it out and what styles will be best for your wedding day.

I am having it done. But the stylist included in the elopement package we purchased so I can’t meet her beforehand to discuss or do a trial run since we live 8 hours away from Napa Valley where we are getting married, so I’m a bit nervous. She does amazing work, I have seen photos, just none of short hair like mine.

Ah, yeah that’s a bit for a trial run. I will say that I got some hair and nail vitamins that have helped my hair to grow a lot faster than I expected. Maybe talk to you doctor and see if something like that might help or to grow? I do really like how you’ve styled it in the last photos. I don’t get my trail until the week of the wedding and I’m freaking out a bit because I want an updo and it’s barely shoulder length right now.

Your hairstyle is super cute! I wish I could pull it off. I have a friend that got married years ago with a super short pixie - I'll have to try and find her pics. - But in the meantime....

Girl! Shoulder length is fine. Don’t stress. That’s what I was trying to get towards but don’t think it would have happened. I take vitamins and use expensive shampoos and serums. Nothing is working. Here’s some photos for shoulder length I had on my Pinterest in case you need inspiration! Any brides out there with super short hair?? 3

Thanks!! I have a couple of those on my Pinterest board. But a lot of the photos are of shorter pixies then mine so it’s been hard for me to find any realistic ones for me. Let me know if you find your friends photo, I’d love to see!

Oh no, thank you! Mine is exactly as long as hers is right now. And it’s basically the photo I posted of my attempted wedding style minus the headpiece. It looks like I’ll probably be going with that but leave it to professionals to do the curls as mine are not good lol.
