Hello hello!

Brand new to WeddingWire, and I'm on a bit of a crunch as my wedding's like a couple months away. Anyway I'm about 30 pounds over weight and hoping to lose it all or as much as I can in the next couple months.

I've been searching online and trying to find what's the best diet to use to help. I know exercise is important but can't forget about nutrition. I've heard from a friend they tried some diet called Venus Factor and said it really worked from them, but then I look online and a lot of people are saying its a scam... *Update - found a review that was kind of positive at http://venusfactor.reviews/ still undecided about it* Anyone heard of it or tried it? I'd love to hear different thoughts or experiences.

Apprecite the help!

I'm pretty sure this is just a cleverly worded advertisement for VenusFactor.

If it is in your means, I would strongly recommend scheduling an appointment with a nutritionist to discuss healthy and realisitic weight loss goals and develop a meal plan. Exercise is definitely important, but weight loss mainly related to changing your eating habits.

Honestly, start early, that is the only way to lose it in a healthy way.

Other than that, I agree wit pp, it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change and that is the only way it will work. Eat more cleanly, drink only water and lots of it, less fatty meat and less meat in general, no fried foods, cut out processed foods and sugar, less salt, more veggies and more raw foods, nuts, berries, good fats and regular exercise.

My grandma did the 17 day diet and LOVED it!! She was over weight her whole life and she tried everything, this was the only one that helped her lose weight and keep it off! It's 3 cycles of 17 days. There's a book for it with how it works and recipes

Think of this time as getting into a healthier lifestyle as you embark on the next chapter of your life. Jumpstart healthy habits now and continue the the progress into your marriage!

ETA: Be careful about upping your workouts too quickly because that can lead to serious injury. If you get injured, you can set yourself back even further. Consult with your doctor about a diet and exercise routine that will facilitate healthy weight loss. If you can afford it, start working with a trainer so that you can learn proper exercise technique and maximize your weight loss efforts.

I don't know exactly how much you'll be able to lose in that amount of time, but in my experience the best place to start is with SO MUCH WATER. Like, ALL the water. Half of your weight in ounces each day. So, I weigh 160, I try to drink 80oz of water a day. It's easiest if you just have a big water bottle and carry it around with you all the time and just keep track of how many of those bottles you need to drink per day. That alone isn't going to lose you 30 pounds, but it'll make you want to eat less, and it'll make you feel a lot better with exercising.

I do agree that that rate of weight loss is probably not safe. You'll probably drop 10 pounds or so really quickly, and then it'll slow down, but don't get discouraged!

Ahhhhhh I do have a recommendation!!! It won't make your diet unhealthy.

    - No carbs for dinner (no rice, corn, bread, pastas ...). You can eat whatever else you wish. Helped me lost 15 pounds in two months without any exercise

    - No sugar / desserts after 4pm. I have sweet teeth so I eat the in the morning

    - Early dinner (6pm instead of 8pm)

    - Eat more breakfast (so you eat less later in the day)

In total I lost 25 pounds just by adjusting to the above habits. ~25pounds in 3 months without any exercise.

Weight watchers for sure! I have been on it since the end of November and have lost 40lbs. I could have lost more but I don't go to the gym or exercise at home. All I do is eat right and walk. My Fitbit helps keep me on track with walking. I recommend it for anyone who wants to lose weight the right way. It's not a diet it's a lifestyle change.
