Any fair skinned brides- white or ivory?

aec2003, on February 16, 2014 at 7:10 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 47

I found the dress I like but I can't decide between white & ivory. I really like the ivory but the sales person thought it made me looked washed out. I tried on a different dress in ivory & didn't think it had the wow factor. I really want to order the white, but I don't want to look washed out either. Are there any fair skinned brides that have pictures in a white dress?

I can't wear white, it makes my skin look horrible... ivory or champaine is best

I'm not sure what color blush is, but I know the dress I like comes in champagne, ivory, & white. I thought the white would look good if I tan or fake tan before the wedding, but I want to make sure.

I'm very fair skinned and I went with ivory. White was way too harsh on me.

Blush is a super pale shade of pink...if you are worried about looking washed out, definitely go with ivory of champagne over white.

Here is the actual dress in white.. sorry for all the pictures! I guess I'm really traditional & wanted a white dress.. I like ivory on other girls, just didn't really love it on me.

I am so pale my family often calls me Casper. My dress is white and I like how the color looks (then again to be honest, the bodice has gold embellishment so its not "pure" white. You should go with the color you feel most beautiful in.

Im pretty fair skinned, i get pretty tan in the summer though [italian and irish wooo]. my dress is white. I went in with the intentions of getting a ivory dress but it drowned my skin color out so much. I put on the white dress and i knew i couldn't go with any other color.

I'm very fair (redhead here), and went with an ivory dress because of it. I'd also be worried about using fake tanner because it might stain your dress.

Britt, I like the white with your skin tone! I felt the same way.. I really like the white better in person, but wanted some more opinions. It sounds like everyone thinks ivory would be better so I'm not sure. I plan on using some Jergens natural glow (won't do a lot but will help a little) and tanning some before the wedding.. I burn easily so I want to tan anyway to get my skin used to the sun before our honeymoon.

I'm very fair, in winter I use 1 away from the lightest foundation. I went with ivory as well. It looks so creamy and beautiful. The white just looked too harsh and I hated how bright white it was. My dress is also taffeta.

@aec the white doesn't look bad on you at all !

i made my mom take pictures of me in every dress i tried on cause i wanted to see how it would look in pictures (especially with the crappy lighting davids bridal has). Ivory & champagne made me look so weird, totally drowned me out.

I am though a little worried about how pale ill look when its time for me to walk down the aisle being that my ceremony is outside. Im going to go regular beach tanning during the summer, just to get more of a sunkissed glow, nothing too crazy.

I went with Ivory even though I'm hoping to tan beforehand ... we'll see how that goes.

I have alabaster skin and chose an oyster (champagne/gray mixed) with an ivory lace overlay for my dress. It looks gorgeous with my fair skin. I stay away from all things white. It looks terrible with fair skin.
