Any idea when registry events will be reinstated?

I don't know when the events will be reinstated, but you can definitely register without one and you won't miss much. We went to one in December, and really the only difference between registering in the store during an event and registering in the store during regular store hours is that they give you snacks and you get to try the knives. You can't eat with a mask on and they won't do knife demonstrations from 6 feet away, so those things are unlikely to happen soon. I would recommend going into the store to add at least a few things to the registry because it's nice to be able to see (and touch if you're comfortable) what things look like in real life instead of just on a computer screen. But if you do that and then go out to brunch afterward, you'll get basically the same feeling.

I wouldn’t count on events like this coming back for a while yet. You still have time (depending on when your shower is going to be), but at this point the virus has lasted way longer than initially anticipated and there’s no telling how this fall will go.
I definitely agree to register in person if you are able and comfortable, and generally there’s an associate who will help answer any questions, make suggestions, and show you displays.

I definitely wouldn't count on these types of events coming back before 2021 at the absolute earliest (but probably will be later since this type of thing is low priority). However, if it makes you feel any better you're not missing all that much...We had pretty much the same experience as the first PP at Crate and Barrel. They gave us some snacks and we were allowed to test out the knives--we were in and out of the store within 30 minutes!

Agree with pp on the timing and benefit of attending. I had heard great things about C&B events, but ours was a let down. There were snacks and coffee and they pushed you to download the app on your phone to make the registry - basically just like you could at home from the couch. It was short and pretty pointless!

Thanks everyone! I thought it was like some magical event, but it seems like maybe we should just go ahead and go to the store. We do want to try the knives though. I wonder if they'll still let you do that in store. Thanks so much!
