Any ideas for a buffet style reception?

Jacqueline, on April 2, 2013 at 8:48 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 10

Me and my fiance are having a small reception 40-60 people coming to our reception.

What are some good ideas for a cheap buffet style dinner?

If you're DIYing it, how about a pasta bar? You can cook pasta ahead of time, toss it in olive oil and then freeze it in Ziploc bags then just drop the bags in hot water and the pasta comes back to life. Smiley smile Do a couple kinds of pasta, a few different sauce options, some meats and veggies, cheese, etc. Serve with garlic bread and salad. Really inexpensive and easy to do yourself! Just make sure you have someone on refill duty to keep the trays full. Also, you may want to consider making the favors mints after all the garlic. Lol

I'm doing an italian menue Lasagna chicken alfredo mushroom ravioli and chicken parmigiana for $950 for 200 guests so for 40-60 I bet you could find an italian restaurant to cater cheap

If you're going to DIY, do stuff that isn't time sensative; a baked pasta, salad, pulled pork, great bread. Keep it simple, but baked pasta won't get mushy in the trays.

Either what Future Mrs. Eversole suggested or BBQ style. Four weddings had an episode with a Chinese food buffet.
