Any ideas on price for foliage bouquets?

Rose, on June 2, 2016 at 10:46 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8

So I've tried looking for pricing for foliage bouquets/boutineers/centerpieces..but I can't find anything on it. I want a natural looking wedding first because of the look, and second because I figure it will cut down on pricing. But..will it really? Would the pricing of a foliage bouquet still be about the same as a flower bouquet? Has anyone done it and has an estimate of pricing? I'm attaching a picture of an example of what I mean..

Thanks! I figured it would depend on the time of year and what's available as well. I'm hoping that by doing a natural wedding, I might be able to DIY some things as well to cut down costs.

I wish I wasn't so far out (I like to plan ahead for things) so I could seriously sit down and talk with a florist! I'm scared they'll turn me away if I even tried so soon, even for just a quick estimate.

I'm wondering the same thing! Talking to our florist to see if making the adjustment would actual cuts costs!

My thinking was that foliage might be easier to get and maintain compared to flowers but I wasn't sure if there were some other factors that can make it cost as much. Again..season might also affect it. Gosh you just never know these days...

Let me know what your florist says!

I'm wanting to do the same thing! I'm going the diy route because I'm a control freak. I did a test run this weekend with greenery from whole foods and it turned out just like I wanted. I'm going to bulk order ferns and eucalyptus and other greens for the wedding and have recruited my mom and bridesmaids to help me arrange.

I think I will be going DIY with the centerpieces..literally throwing down some stumps, candles and some greenery. I wouldn't trust myself with the bouquets/boutineers haha

Funny story .. I went to a bridal show back in March and talked to a florist about wanting those things I mentioned but I was still deciding whether I wanted my wedding in NJ or PA and she straight up said they wouldn't do them unless we did the wedding in the Lehigh Valley (PA) area. I was like okay then thanks for letting me know not to call you! haha

I love those, but just saying, your photo inspiration bouquet is one of the new huuuuggeee ones. There's still a lot of flowers in there. To make it look right, the florist still has to buy lots of different bunches of different types of foliages too -- foliage is not as cheap as you think. And - it actually takes design skill to make those "messy" looking bouquets, lol. Smiley smile I definitely see principals of floral design and they created a specific floral design "shape."

How much? You'll need to ask a couple of local florists for a proposal.

My bridesmaids bouquets were similar to what you are describing. They were $40 each if I remember correctly. I think that's a good price Smiley smile

@Monique Oh yes, I don't want mine that big. It was just to show the use of foliage instead.

@LDwed I not only loved your dress from the other post, but those bouquets as well! That's is the general size that I was thinking and I'm breathing a sigh of relief that there is hope. I guess it really comes down to what foliage is "in season" as well, but of course I can't find anything on the internet. Thanks!
