So, is your wedding today?? Congratulations!! I hope everything goes according to your dreams, and that includes the marriage as well! Yesterday, my husband and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary but on Sunday, June 4, we are having a kind of vow renewal ceremony at church, followed by an elegant intimate dinner for 8 of us, including our best friends, our son and his 2 kids and the priest. Followed by a honeymoon we never got to have! Good luck, and God bless!

Our wedding ceremony is this coming Sunday, June 4. It's a Catholic convalidation ceremony during our church's regular Sunday morning Mass, because 38 years ago yesterday, when we got married, we had a small and very lovely church wedding, but not the Catholic wedding I wanted and should have had. Back in October, the situation changed. My first married was annulled and I began planning this celebration. My best and dearest friend was largely instrumental in having this happen and the first thing I did was to ask her to be my Matron of Honor. She was, and still is, thrilled! Since then, we have planned this very simple wedding day: she and her husband will host our wedding dinner at a nearby elegant restaurant for 8 of us, including the priest. Our son is Best Man and he and his 2 young children will arrive tomorrow morning from 5 states away. The kids will participate in the Mass, and our pastor will officiate. There will be flowers, music, favors, and a wedding cake much like our original cake, with the original Precious Moments figurine on top. The church choir (of which I am a member) will sing music that my best friend/MOH who is also the church's music/choir director/organist, helped me plan, and she will sing a solo I requested. My husband and I will exchange our original rings. I will wear a cream lace ensemble, he will wear a formal black suit, white dress shirt and silk tie. Now, I can't believe it's only 2 days away! Despite 38 years of marriage, I am as giddy and excited as a new bride, as is my MOH - we are like 2 - 25 year olds! PS - we are "70-somethings"! Then hubby and I will have a 4 day honeymoon (we didn't get to have one 38 years ago). Good luck to all the June 2023 brides!!
