Any Mature Brides Having Bridesmaids?

on July 9, 2019 at 3:13 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 30
When I get married next June I'll be 58 yrs old.
My decision to have a full wedding was because of my daughter. She's special needs
and I want her to feel special and get attention
as well as I. She's so looking forward to shopping for her dress. She's ready to party.

I'm an older bride at 47 and I will only have my sister as my matron of honor and my FH will only have his brother as his best man. But this is your day, no matter what your age is, have the wedding you want with as many bridesmaids as you want. Age ain't nothing but a number LOL!

Why can't you have a full wedding and bridal party regardless of your age? I'll be 52 when we get married and I'm doing it all! Your day, your way.

I agree, do what you want. I was 52 and we had a small wedding (55 people) and my daughter was my MOH. Congratulations and Good Luck!

Age ain’t nothing but a number. I’m only 34 and not having any bridesmaids. Just a Man of Honor (my best friend since kindergarten) my FH’s brother is the Best Man and our 3 boys. I don’t think you need full entourage to include your daughter and make her feel special too, but it’s perfectly fine at any age to include those closest to you.

I'm not a mature bride but wanted to say you deserve to feel happy and if having your daughter as a bridesmaid makes you happy you should do it. Doesn't matter if you're 22 or 92, you should do what makes you all happy.

I was 56 when I got married, and had my two grown children as my attendants. I don't think more would have been inappropriate. But a) I like to keep things simple, and b) we were having an intimate wedding, and didn't want to have half the guests in the wedding.

I'm 51, but will be 52 when we get married next May. I've never been married, but have been dreaming of my wedding since I was a girl. So, even though there have been times when I felt like "am I too old for this?" I am having a bridal party. My grown daughter is my maid of honor, my sister is my matron of honor, and my cousin is my bridesmaid. FH has been married before, but he wants me to be happy and get everything I want. When I have those moments of "am I too old for this?" he is usually the one to say that I deserve every good thing in life, regardless of age--age is just a number. I LOVE this man! He's so good to me.

btw, I'm really happy to see so many older brides responding here! I'm not the only one!!!! That feels really good!!

    Hi,

I'm 59 years old and getting married in August of this year and am having only a Matron of Honor, Best Man and two of my grandsons as ring bearers. It really is all about what you want and your circumstances.

In your case, I would definitely go for it and include her for sure! You'll never regret the memories you two will make together with the things she'll be involved not to forget seeing all of her smiles!!!!

When my wedding day come I will have just turned 50. I'm having a MOH and one bridesmaid. I'd have more if I had more to ask. I think it's sweet you're having a wedding to make her happy

Totally! My hubby was mid 50’s and I was mid 40’s (my first wedding). I second-guessed my ballgown dress choice for about 5 seconds and then wise me said, “If you feel beautiful in a process dress, get one!” I did. I felt beautiful on the wedding day.

Referring to 50 plus. Not as being mature. Older Bride. Long time ago I used to older
brides shouldn't have large lavish weddings.
Though I beat to my own drum.
