Any microdiscectomy experiences?

My FH had a microdiscectomy for a herniated disc (L5/S1) a little over a month ago and while the incision site is totally healed, he's still having some leg pain. His work involves physical labor, but he is part owner so he's been doing more delegating than heavy lifting. He gets really discouraged and I try to remind him that it's only been a month post surgery, but it makes me sad and worries me that he's still in pain. It's honestly one of the most nerve-wracking parts of wedding planning for me at this point, because I just want him (and me!) to be able to dance and enjoy himself on the big day, and especially during our honeymoon! Has anyone had any experience with this surgery or something similar? I know it's only been a month and the wedding isn't for 5 more, but I get so nervous and feel so bad for him when he tells me its acting up.
