Any one work w David's Bridal photography?

I'm getting really uncomfatable with the low price of David's bridal photography ($1795 for their elite package) and starting to have second thoughts. Anyone have anything good or bad to say about them? any feedback would be appreciated.

I recently worked with a couple who wanted a small, personal ceremony. They wanted to work with a photographer they felt they could communicate with. Since I'm just starting out in the wedding photography world, I did not know what to charge and thought I might be going too high. The feedback I have from their shots are amazing and I am floored with gratitude. I would not be able to photograph a wedding without having some personal touch in there. Photography should be an artform and your moment should be extremely personal and special. I agree with Celia from the beginning, be comfortable with who you hire...the less stress for the bride, the better.

    Sincerely,

    Deena

Davids Bridal recruits their random photographers from Craigslist. That should tell you something about the quality of davids bridal's photography company.

Might as well skip the Davids Bridal markup and find your own Craigslist photographer. At least then you can evaluate their abilities for yourself instead of being surprised on your wedding day with whoever they happened to pull from Craigslist just for your special day.

I can't comment on them specifically, but I can most certainly tell you that you get what you pay for.

Granted, maybe you LOVE the work of a low-budget photography studio and I guess that just makes you lucky. But, if you're questioning their work/skills/product then you should steer clear!

There are a LOT of ways that photographers can cut corners to reduce prices. It's important to educate yourself as to the nature of your requests and what they typically consist of. Maybe this article will help you:

Kerri, i had Davids Bridal Photography for my wedding. I couldnt have asked for anyone better. I met with my consultant in the store. She answered all of my questions and was there for me the WHOLE way! I LOVED having a coordinator that took care of EVERYTHING. they walked me through the WHOLE process and made it so easy and smooth!! The photographer was AMAZING..It was like having my best friend capture all the special moments for me.they took the time to get to know me and my husband. The albums were GORGEOUS and the images came out amazing. The prices were a whole other story. they had the best deal EVER! way lower then anyone else in my state, and they included EVERYTHING i could ever want. My sister is getting married in may and has their photography as well. i would recommend them to EVERYONE! they book you with a back-up too..i mean come on..WHO CAN DO THAT? i felt so comfortable and cared for the whole time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND DAVIDS BRIDAL PHOTOGRAPHY!!

Like Theresa M. says...Always make sure you can connect directly with the professional who will be working your event. We are a photography company with many photographers, but we allow the client to CHOOSE their photographer and they meet prior to the event. Your wedding is too important to put in the hands of a complete unknown.

Even as low as their prices are, David's Bridal actually pays their contract photographers under $500, sometimes as little as $350, for 8 hours of coverage.

Who are you really getting for that price?

Beware - this is happening to a good friend

For those of you who are thinking about using David's Bridal photography department....beware! My son Brian and his fiance put a deposit down for their wedding in November. Unfortunately my son had a motorcycle accident and has been in coma for almost 3 weeks! He has diffuse axonal brain damage and IF he wakes up, he will have a long road road ahead of him. David's Bridal photography will not give them their deposit back. BEWARE!

Interesting for sure. I can speak of this though first hand experience as a photographer who is considering working with them. First of all, you are required to have liability insurance.. Most craigslist photographers or photographers who are starting out do not carry insurance. I was interviewed on the phone - I had to submit one wedding of raw images for evaluation. Finally I had an interview with the regional manager. They hired models fro me to do a prep shoot and then formals of the couple. After that my images were evaluated for noise- white balance- exposure and focus. I even had to show up with all of my gear and dress like I would for one of my wedding.

From my talk with their manager, they are looking for quality photographer who are customer service driven and professional.

    Hey Guys,

I'm a photography vendor for David's Bridal. I know for a fact you can view the photographers portfolio at your local store. In this way you can select your photographer by portfolio. Fill out your EPG form ASAP. This way you can speak with your selected photographer. Set up a time to meet if possible.

    Hope this helps... Smiley smile

David's Bridal has wonderful professional local photographers. I have had the pleasure of working with them several times. Myself and my clients were very happy. You do get to know your photographer before the wedding. The photographers are all certified and put through rigorous testing before David's will hire them. The prices are so reasonable because they have so many stores and have a large volume of cutomers. The photographers that I have talked to are very happy working with David's. The images are gorgeous and the albums are phenominal! I send clients to David's Bridal all the time! Their coordinators work hand and hand with me to make sure the couple's wedding day is everything they want it to be. I have read through the comments on here and it seems that the people that take the time to go into a store and see the work and see what they have to offer are happy that they did.

My experience with David's Bridal photography was awesome! Our photographer was the best even our guests kept telling me how much they liked the photographer and our pictures were gorgeous. He went above and beyond our expectations! We received our DVD's with all the pictures within 5 weeks and our printed pictures in the 6th week. We were very very pleased with everything!

I am a wedding photographer, who has had some contact with the Davids Bridal Photography division, as they were going to hire me to be a contracted photographer. They are VERY selective to who they use as photographers. The reason the prices are so affordable is because the photographer is only charging for their time at the event. There are no fees for consultation, prints, editing time, etc. DB has their own division of photo editors and print labs that they get at great rates, therefore being able to pass the savings on to the customer! They are very very selective of their photographers and go through a very detailed check as far as experience, proofs, equipment, etc. You can totally trust them! (By the way, i do not work for them, I just considered it, but at the time my equipment didn't meet their standards)

Just look online for more reviews. If there are many bad ones, why risk it? Smiley smile The wedding day is too important to take a chance on, in my opinion!
