I started planning my wedding fourteen months early and was just so excited I made some decisions quick but then things changed and didn't work out the way I had hoped and later I had to change some things from before. So other then a venue, I would make sure you definitely know what you want because in two years things can change a lot!

I’m having mine Nov 2020. It feels so far away, but I’m going to be so busy in these next two years, so it will probably fly by. We haven’t booked anything yet, but we’ve looked at a bunch of venues, photographers, bakeries, color schemes, decor, etc.

I am happy to see other Brides getting ready for 2020 and it's not just me 🤣 Mine is June of 2020. And out of State, I believe I'll be out of the country next summer so I want to get things in order. I'm a prepared person for everything to early as it. But I'm touring in May my Venue, where hope to hold both ceremony and reception. There books don't open for 2020 yet though so I been trying not to get a head of myself but it hard not to get excited.

My date is January 202 and I have booked the perfect venue, planner, photographer, and DJ/Photobooth. We are booking the caterer and videographer in July which is a year and a half before the wedding. Some of the videographers I've reached out to already have my date booked. There a lot of theming stat should wait till the year of like a dress, cake, hair and make up, etc. but the big vendors should be booked as soon as you are 100% sure of what you want!

Also a 2020 bride. I'm going to see my first venue tour next saturday. Other than that, just getting ideas on pinterest. I can't start any real planning until the venue gets booked!

I’m a Jan 2020 bride and I’m doing a little planning here and there. I’m knocking out the little things and slowly making my way to the big things. I love how I have a little more time because I don’t have to rush. I already have my dress and my next thing is picking out a venue!

I totally didn’t even know you could book this early. My wedding is also Jan 2020 and I haven’t thought about booking till next year but maybe I should get on it sooner!

I would say if you know what you want, have the money for the deposits, and the vendors will let you, I'd at least book the venue, photographer/videographer, caterer, and DJ/band. They are the ones that normally get booked far in advance. Everything else can honestly wait!

I'm engaged but still in college and want to graduate before tying the knot, so that also puts me at at least May 2020. At least we have plenty of time to plan! FH has been a major help in finding a venue, caterer, and florist so far.

If it makes you feel better, I'm technically not engaged yet, but I'm in full force planning mode for March 2020. My boyfriend and I have been dating for 7 years (Junior high sweethearts). We've already decided we want to get married on March 26th (our current anniversary is Nov. 26th, both sets of parents are the 26th of April and June, so the date was an easy pick). My boyfriend's contingency is that he want to have a destination wedding in Maui. So I'm waiting for the proposal (hopefully any day now) while doing a ton of research. Granted DWs probably have a longer timeline (at least in my mind) to give guest enough time to book flights and or save money. Anyways, this is what I've done so far:

-Contacted Venues and schedule tours. (We're going in October to wedding plan)
    - Made a list of things we need during the wedding (as in really want) and a list of disposable wants.
    - Contacted wedding planners (required at most venues in Maui) and gotten several proposals of cost
    - made the guest list with predictions of who will/will not rsvp
-"chosen" bridesmaids and planned out bridesmaid proposals
    - Made a complete budget with different venues/scenarios
-Organized my Pinterest with a clear understanding of color scheme, theme, bridesmaid dresses, wedding dresses, etc.
-Written out a schedule/timeline for the wedding day
-scoped our different hair and make up artists
-I'm planning to do DIY save the dates and wedding invites so I've planned out how to do that. Haven't bought materials or anything yet.
    - Looked at different catering options (plated vs. buffet vs. stations) and have an idea of what I want on the menu.
-Generally comparing and contrasting different vendors.
-Driving my friends and future fiance insane (but they already knew what they were signing up for haha)

Full disclosure, I've been "planning" this wedding since we started dating in 9th grade so I'm more than a little enthusiastic. I'm a weird mix of type A and B, where I love to plan everything down to the detail, but I'm also 100% sure that some of these aspects will change both willingly and unwillingly. Theres a lot I won't be prescriptive about (bridesmaid shoes, make up, hair, etc.), but I do like to dream about all the possibilities.

    Hope my list helps!

October 2020! Venue is booked, I have a list of other vendors I want to book ASAP but my wedding is out of state so it’s a little more effort. We’re taking engagement photos and outfit shopping next summer

My wedding is set for June 2020. We wanted a chill engagement with plenty of time to plan. So far we've; set a date, announced our engagement, looked at venues(haven't picked one yet), and chosen all our groomsmen and bridesmaids. A lot of other things will make more sense to decide closer to the date. Because who knows what will change in 2 years (guest list, venue, dinner preferences) So right now we are enjoying thinking about decorations, our signature drinks, and colors/themes. I say if you've given yourself extra time have fun with it.

Well I’m excited to say we booked a venue ♥️. I know our wedding is so far away but we don’t have to worry about anyone stealing our date plus we have so much time to pay it off and map out paying it off. October 10, 2020 here we come 😊

Mine is a vow renewal type ceremony on April 11th 2020 which will be our 5 year anniversary. We had boring city hall wedding lol.

Anyway, we booked the venue last week. Photography and DJ will be done by our friends. All the other vendors I’m not too much in a rush over since our venue includes pretty much everything.

September 202 I’m so excited yet nervous 😭... we have yet to really start planning so far all I have is the colors and looked at a few dresses. I’ve also been to a bridal show. We plan on looking at venues sometime within the next couple of months just to get a general idea of where we want it. Every venue I talk to is up in the air since our wedding is so far out

May 2020! Visiting 3 venues next month, already got my pinterest boards going and favoriting vendors. Not going to start looking more seriously for those until the end of the year but want to book the venue in the next several months or so. Hoping to do engagement pictures this summer or fall!

I'm not sure on a date... We are expecting and I refuse to get married while big.. plus guestimating how big I'll be is too hard. I know it will be spring or fall... Can't be spring 2019. Theme is Disney bounding. Kids are starting to pick the characters they will mimic.. one girl is set on eyeore. Grey puffy dress with pink sash. Fiance is brown and green suit for Robinhood. And I think I know which venue. A friend will be our master of ceremonies and marry us. No dj or caterer. Going to ask my parents to cook some food and make the rest myself. And a friend will be doing the photography, I'm paying $50 for a back up battery but she won't let me pay for services. Invitations will also be made by a friend. We are a blended family with 5 kids and one on the way. so I had to know pricing to even attempt to set a date.. that's the only reason I know what I know. Lol after the baby comes in August I'll start planning engagement photos and such and really get the ball rolling on planning. Very family themed wedding due to the number of kids... Any ideas on keeping it fun and entertaining for kids and adults are appreciated. I think out of 200 guests almost 100 are under 18.. not little kids necessarily but still kids. Though me and my fiance are big kids ourselves lol
