Any other folks doing hybrid adventure elopement - microwedding?

Hi All! My fiance and I are planning a hybrid (what my photographer called it) adventure elopement-destination microwedding. We are renting a lodge in Colorado with enough rooms to sleep our 24 guests for 5 nights. On our wedding day, we are hiking up a mountain, getting dressed, and saying our vows with just the two of us and our photographers, then in the afternoon, we will have a short ceremony and dinner with our guests.

I'm having some trouble planning because we have so few guests, and it isn't at a traditional venue. For example, we don't have any local contacts, so any decor or items we want there we will likely have to bring on the plane ourselves. Also, unsure about how many meals we should plan on providing.

Has anyone done this, or does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Is there a reason you’re requiring your guests to stay five nights? It seems like a lot for a wedding. Either way, with the setup you’ve described, I’d order grocery delivery to the lodge that will cover simple breakfasts and lunches (pastries, fruit, sandwich and salad ingredients, soups). Then I’d cater dinners in from local restaurants and cover the tab. If anyone wants anything more extravagant, they can go off on their own. But I definitely would try to pare down those 5 nights to 2-3. That’s a lot of togetherness and wedding celebration for 24 people, even if they’re you’re nearest and dearest and get along with each other.

I think covering the grocery basics but letting guests ultimately plan their own meals is a great suggestion Kylie!! You're only responsible for providing the meal at the reception!

You can also reach out to local florists & event rental companies for any décor you'd like to rent locally:
