Any other “so extra” flamboyant kind of brides?

So I’m a week out and feeling the pressure to look like a classic/timeless/elegant bride from family and it’s just not me. I’m feeling down by the negativity. So I’m a week out and feeling the pressure to look like a classic/timeless/elegant bride from family and it’s just not me. I’m feeling down by the negativity. My attire is set in stone, I’m comfortable with what I’ve chosen but I’m definitely a “more is more” so extra kind of dresser so I’d really like to see some stories or photos of brides like that!

Fun hair?
Colored dresses?
Over the top accessories or makeup?
GLITTER!?

Please share so I can fawn over all of you.

So my wedding is super far away (March 2021) but I just bought a Lazaro dress, that's ENTIRELY glitter (Style #3810 in ivory if you wanna check it out) and I'm obsessed. I am so over the top and everyone who knows me expects nothing less lol. Wish my dress was in so I could post pics!

Ooh that’s so gorgeous!! I love Lazaro’s sherbet colored gowns. My dress is an Alvina Valenta that has a glitter underlayer, I love that yours is full glitter!!

Oops didn’t see message. I did that too!! It used to have short spikes in the back, it was basically anime boy hair lol. I’d spike it with gel and make it really poofy. Then when we got engaged a couple years ago I started growing it out. Cye’s only been growing his for a year and it’s as long as mine, I low key hate him for having more beautiful hair.

The updo would fantastic, especially if you weaved little flowers through it. Like a beautiful maiden! Can’t wear updos, it’s like there’s no bones in my face, zero angles at all, so hair framing the face gives the illusion!

My elf ears arrived and I’m in love. ❤️ They’re tiny and cute, a little difficult to style hair around them but don’t care! Love! Cye tried on the longer pair, he really liked them but I don’t know if he’ll wear for ceremony. I already told him I’m wearing mine, if I’m the weird one oh well lol

She has super short hair and is always trying to find someone that can do a short cut without doing the standard "men's" cut. My son has gorgeous hair and it has definitely been longer than mine for a few years off and on.

I was originally planning the ivy and lily of the valley crown for the ceremony, but I'm leaning toward just a veil. Flowers might be exactly what I need. I have no clue how I ended up with these cheekbones but they are my saving grace. lol

Oooohhh I can't wait to see pics. You should wear them all the time!

Those pixie cuts always look nice on women, well not me of course but women with cheekbones. My stylist does excellent short hair but there is no way I’ll cut my hair short again! It took too long to get here! I’ll bun if it I have to when I’m 90!

Forget Me Not or Lisianthus would look so pretty in a braided updo like that, that perfect wildflower picking maiden look. 😍 Plus they smell good. You could also do Orange Blossoms since they’re traditional for brides to wear(ooold tradition)

I will definitely post pics once of my work in progress! I’ll need opinions anyway.

I'm actually leaning toward baby's breath. I'm not the biggest fan but she likes it and I can get my hands on bunches of it cheap.

Oh no kidding, it’s like $5 for a big bouquet of it here. I’m going to get some to bulk out my bridal bouquet. Man we’ve got gorgeous flowers that grow on the side of the road like Queen Ann’s Lace, Stock and Aster. You have no idea how much my cheapass wanted to get my flowers that way. Cye told me that’s literally insane and NO. He’s right but boooo

I'm laughing so hard because I really think I would try that. I told Kris about it and she made a face similar to how I imagine Cye looking during that conversation. I actually chose to skip live flowers but evert once in a while I dream of all the pretty flowers I could have.

This happened in the car too so he was just like “Huuuun, don’t”, because he just KNEW what awful ideas were brewing in my head! I honestly would’ve skipped live flowers but our theme would look pretty dumb without them and I definitely don’t have as many flowers as I wanted. The nursery had big beautiful blossoming trees and I wanted all of them but they were $150 each. 😭 We’re still going to buy potted plants, I know guests will want to take them home so why not.

I swear I’ve heard “Hun don’t” a million times about the wedding. I wanted to make all the food, the cake and sew petals to my veil. He definitely knew I wasn’t up to the task.

I saw those when we were looking for reusable ice cubes. They did not fit our colors at all but I considered it!

It's funny because I said I didn't want flowers. I just remember watching the bouquet, that I didn't even pick or really like, from my first wedding die. I didn't want that this time. I decided to carry River Song's journal down the aisle and I still love the idea but who doesn't love pretty flowers? Plus, I just can't imagine handing a big bouquet to my 23 year old son to hold. He just would not be comfortable. I did get three blue and white fake calla lilies for our elopement though. I'll be adding them to the selfie booth props.

If she hadn't wanted a beach wedding so much, which I also love, I would have wanted a full autumn in the woods theme. I think I'm saving a heck of a lot of money on decorations by doing it this way. I would have gone way overboard with pumpkins and leaves!

Oh yeah I wouldn’t want to carry a huge bouquet either. Mine’s just a bunch of wildflowers, but I still swoon over those huge cascade bouquets. Ugh they’re so pretty, and $300 ouch. I know I didn’t want a roses or lilies big round bouquet, I don’t like flower arrangements that look manmade you know? It’s gotta look a little messy.

I loooove beach weddings!! Naturally it would be more mermaids themed but you get the idea. There was this designer years back that was the queen of beach wedding dresses named Amy Michelson and I was completely obsessed with those dresses. The models even used sun parasols with veils attached on the runway, man it was cool. We considered a beach for our elopement actually.
Autumn woods weddings would be breathtaking, our area is loaded with red maples!! Our gazebo now has some too. We were leaning towards that idea for the enchanted color palette(lots of gold too) but my SiL had an autumn themed wedding complete with hot cider and donuts recently. Didn’t want to rock the boat!

I’m thinking about maybe doing pink opal colored nails. I just booked my appointment but it’s so hard to choose a look.

Since we're further south than where we each grew up, autumn doesn't hit here as early as it does back home. It would have taken a lot of time, money, and effort to create the look I want for autumn theme. Like I said, I saved myself.

I am definitely leaning toward a grey ombre French. I'm curious if she'll get polish for this or not. She is talking about using make-up and she hasn't done that in years.

Oh that sounds so modern and gorgeous! One of my favorite nail colors is gunmetal but it might be too gritty for our theme. I’m undecided if I want a pink opal or more of a blue opal like a moonstone flash. I just want it on the tips like this(but shorter rounder nails, don’t like super long)

Also I’m thinking about asking my MUA if she can do this if I bring the product, a light sweep of it. Do you think it would be too much? I really can’t decide.

Blue opal is in both our engagement rings so I would lean toward that myself. I do like the flecks of blue on the more pink nail for you. It really feels whimsical.

I also really like the ethereal highlight on the cheeks. It is subtle enough but gives the feel you are going for. Especially since you don't want dramatic make-up, a little brush of this might add that little extra.

This is the inspo for my nails.

That was what I was considering since it would match my wedding ring! Ok good, I’m trying not to go too out there with my makeup because my mom will literally cry but that sweep of rainbow is just ❤️

Second one!!! So sparkly! You could even put a tiny gem on your ring finger and if wouldn’t look out of place with that color. I normally don’t like crystals on nails but it really could look gorgeous here because it’s already lightly sparkly!

So this is the best rainbow highlighter on the market right now

And my Ulta one is a dupe. It’s discontinued now but I found it on Amazon. It’s not as rainbow as Chaos but it’s pretty dang close.

Opal engagement rings!!! I love yours. That nail pic would be gorgeous with this!!!!!

Thanks for the tip on the highlighter. I bought one for pride and all you saw was blue and green where my contouring should be.

    Here are our rings.

Love!! I love how they match! Opal is just the best stone, it looks magic! I actually ordered Cye a ring he doesn’t know about that has meteorite and opal pieces in it. He really loves astronomy and I kinda sorta wanted us to match. The blacksmith says it will be delayed so pretty bummed about it. I wanted to propose again(his old engagement ring got stolen and he really misses it), boooo! It would have been an absolutely awesome scene in my wedding dress. 😭

I noticed the Amazon one arrives busted so maybe shop around? Apparently Too Faced makes one too but no idea on quality. The one I have makes a full rainbow but I like to drag it through the blue/green/purple part.
