Hello! I was just wondering if they're any poor people, like myself that are planning a wedding? By poor I mean, living paycheck to paycheck, but even that isn't enough. Hello! I was just wondering if they're any poor people, like myself that are planning a wedding? By poor I mean, living paycheck to paycheck, but even that isn't enough. Im asking because, I'm trying to find someone on here that I can relate to. What are you cutting out on your daily life, that can go towards your wedding? Even if its an elopement, things cost money. Mine is food, im only buying cheap food, and not eating out as much.

FH and I don't seem like we have a long engagement (1 yr) but we have been together for 8 years and saving for the last couple of years. We have known for awhile we would be getting married but the timing wasn't right (I just finished grad school in dec.) I didn't want to plan a wedding while working full time and going to school. I know people on here do that but it wasn't for me. We waited and already have saved the money for our wedding. Now we're saving for a house, but socal is expensive and will take awhile.

Yes please don't make family work at your wedding. Also don't cater it yourselves. If people get sick and you don't have insurance that would be a financial disaster.

We are moving to a less expensive apartment. Trying to find ways to cut costs. We have decided we aren't going to be having much of a social life for the next year. We are spreading out all the costs so it's not one big lump sum we are paying at one time.

I saw a wedding on the Apartment Therapy website and they had a backyard wedding with a catered taco bar. It looked like so much fun and great ambience. Seriously go in that website. I'm addicted to it lol.

Since this is 2+ years old, I'm a little late to the party, but I am currently in the same boat. Our family has been together for almost 18 years, and finally getting married. Our budget is $3500 MAX, and so far I am doing good. Zero vendors involved, a lot of DIY happening as well. The Wish website is my go to. Hopefully when the items arrive, they aren't cheesy/cheap and look decent. If they are, I might just crack. Lol.

Yep in the same boat girl! Save that money and write down all wedding expenses and income you two will be bringing in on a piece of paper and hang it next to your front door so you see it.Its better if everything is written down and in your face so you are not over whelmed and know what to expect.Thats what me and my fiance are doing. And we live paycheck to paycheck.Im a stay at home mom with an 8 month old and hes the only one that works but we are able to have a wedding and reception in less then a month.Right now its crunch time so we cut out cable, air conditioning and we got an EBT.Go get a link card if you can and if you have small children get on WIC.Also go to food pantrys! save save save! you can do it!

Dont listen to people. I had no plans on a wedding with more then 10 people. I was sold on a small wedding (60 people) and i cant afford that. Now im just disappointed. I have just come to terms if I want to get married it will be at a court house. Its embarrassing to constantly be told it's a special day and should be special when you can't even afford the room to do it in.
