Any size 12/14 brides care to share?

Hi! I have my first dress appt in 3 weeks and I'm just curious to see "real brides" that are my size. I know this size isn't that big but I'm feeling self conscious already. Show me how beautiful you look in your gowns! I'm thinking the small samples won't even fit me.

Following due to the same concern and situation, bridal appointment 4/1 and size 12/14!! True the size is just a number but have made significant progress in the past few years, was once a size 22/24. Never want to feel like I am back sliding.

I'm just going to make every effort to enjoy this experience with my family and if something doesn't fit quite right I'll probably make some smart ass remark and have an audience to laugh with me. You all look amazing and I know you will OP!!!

It honestly depends on the store. I'm regularly a size 16. One store I was a 24, the other store I went to was true to size. Don't worry girl, have fun shopping!:-)

I am normally a 16. I bought a 22 but should have purchased a 20. My torso and waist fit a 20 but my hip matched a 22. I got strong armed into buying the 22 even though my dress flares out at hip. It's not form-fitting anywhere passed my belly button basically. It's a poof skirt. It had to be majorly altered down to at least a 20, possibly 18 (did not lose weight from purchase date to now). Spent $700 on altering a $880 dress.

Bridal size run really small compare to street size (your usually jeans size). I'm a 16 and my dress was order a 20.

Anyone self conscious, DO NOT worry about the size of the dress you may have to order.

    I wear size 10 jeans

Medium or large shirts/tanks, depending on fit and how I want it to sit.

    Size 34B bra

My dress sized me a 10 for my waist, 12 for my chest, and 14 for my hips.

So I ordered a 14 and didn't feel bad about it one bit.

It's being altered throughout and my butt to give it more shape.

Here is the dress st my first alteration appointment in Jan. Next is in April.

The store sample I tried on was a 10 and it was comical how it barely fit me. I had to waddle out the fitting room because my legs couldn't move.

Jeans are a 12/14 depending on brand, ended up with a 14 Allure based on measurements:

I wear a 10/12 pants, usually get size 8 dresses. My gown is a 12 from davids bridal. They had a variety of sample sizes, depending on the dress, so just go with it and ask how the fit would change if it were in your size (just so you aren't surprised when you try on your actual dress). Go with what looks good on you! Pic is before alterarions

I normally wear an 8 or 10. My dress is a size 14 and the sample I tried was a 16 and fit with a little room. Go based on how you feel, don't worry about sizes or measurements.

I wouldn't worry about the size. It'll be tailored to fit your body perfectly. I'm a street size 6 and ordered a bridal gown size 10. Just go and enjoy the day. At the end of the day, a size is just a number. What matters is if the dress makes you happy

Don't worry about the size number, it's just a number assigned to a particular design. I am a seamstress in my spare time. Clothing patterns never ever reflect the retail clothing sizes. It all goes off of body measurements.
