Any way to minimize cellulite?

studentloansforlife, on March 19, 2017 at 10:57 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 15

I have spent the night researching Pinterest after some disappointing dressing room fittings with white jeans...

Science says I am stuck with it, but others say you can improve it.

I have tried dry brushing and will probably go back to it. Anything else work? Right now I am looking at coffee scrubs, massage nightly with oils and using a foam roller for exercise.

Any other tips? I want to look better in white jeans and in a bikini on my honeymoon. I already eat really healthy and do some cardio 3 days a week. I am looking to add some butt toning exercise too. Weight loss isn't really relevant since I am a 0/2.

I had started following this page on Facebook for this thing called the Fasciablaster because it looked like a possible tool to help with my neck pain, but they market it heavily for cellulite reduction. I have no idea if it can really do that, but could be worth checking out. If nothing else it should be a good massage tool!

Cellulite is genetic. I'm thin and have cellulite. I have for years. You really can't get rid of it. Just embrace it and move on.

Sure, just ask your parents to hop in a time machine and sleep with someone that doesn't have cellulite in their genes instead!

It is genetic. I've been thin my whole life and I started getting cellulite at 15. I'm 21 now and fairly active and I still have it. Products like to try and convince you they work, but cellulite is a genetic connective tissue disorder. All the products and surgery in the world may fix it for a short time, but as your cells replace the connective tissue, it will always come back.

I think cellulite is unavoidable for most people. I had cellulite by the young age of 12 and it hasn't gotten any better, even when I was at my thinnest. Do exactly as JEssieJV said, embrace it. It's a part of life.

I know that this is probably a lame thing to do, but I wear spanx with white jeans. I have been a size 2 and currently a size 10, any size I am I have cellulite.

Cellulite is so common, even in thin, fit people. Its appearance is also going to depend on lighting, which isn't always great in a fitting room. I'll bet you look great, that no one else would notice your cellulite, and that you are just your own worst critic-as we all are.

Dry brushing, coffee scrubs, massage may help temporarily smooth things out, but I honestly would not spend too much time or money on it.

If you are eating a healthy diet, moisturizing your skin, drinking enough water, exercising, generally taking care of your body and living your best life, you should feel confident that everything looks as it naturally should. That's the philosophy I live by; I certainly have some and I wear shorts, clingy pants, and bathing suits freely. Life is too short to give something like cellulite much thought!!

I've been thin my whole life, at one point even size 00 was too big for me. I've had cellulite since I was 18, at every size. I'm a size 6 now and while I may not love my cellulite, I've grown to just accept it. If it makes you uncomfortable, I second the idea to wear spanx if you really want the peace of mind. However, you are probably the only person noticing it. Remember that - we are most critical of ourselves. Real people have real bodies, with cellulite.

I considered spanx under jeans, but then I think I will get that mid leg line where the spanx ends.

I realize this is genetic, as I had it since I was 18, but it seems worse now. Last year at this time, I was wearing white jeans and it didn't seem so bad, and I wasn't even exercising back then. I think I may have been dry brushing at the time.

I do have poor circulation in my legs and I am pear shaped genetically, so I was hopeful that improving circulation and some muscle toning exercises on the lower half may help.

Also, this isn't the type that shows when I squeeze my skin or the mild orange peel effect, this is serious dimpling, from my butt down to 2 inches above my knees and enough to be visible through any light colored pants.

I've heard dry brushing can help. You use a natural bristle brush dry on your skin before showering. It helps take off dead skin and it claims to help with circulation and the lymphatic system. There are tons of articles online about this.

Look into lymphatic drainage massage by a licensed massage therapist as well. I have poor circulation too and have had that type of massage suggested to me (only had it done once and it did provide some relief.) Not sure if this is an issue for you, but I retained a lot of water in my legs and feet when I had an active job, and now that I have a desk job it's significantly better. I strongly recommend seeing a doctor to rule out underlying issues.

@LeahH yeah, I am hoping some muscle building might help a little too. I walk/jog about 3 times a week for 2-3 miles but I really haven't been good about strength training my legs.

@Jaime I dug out my dry brush yesterday again, I am hoping that will help too and at the least it is daily exfoliation.

@svg I had not thought of a lymphatic massage, but that is an idea. I work with a bunch of physical therapists that do that.

I have a mainly sitting job which isn't great for my circulation. In fact they suggested vein surgery on one leg but I chickened out due to some risks. Technically I am supposed to wear compression hose daily. I may re-visit that since my spider veins are getting worse too.

It's genetic, but you can lower the appearance with muscle building. I have cellulite on the back of my thighs, but I squat a whole lot and i don't mind it anymore! It's very minimal

Love this cream I only been using it for a week and already see and feel a difference in my stomach first day I measured my waist was 40 inches after I used this cream for a week I’m 38 in a half I do see a difference as the day goes by will continue to use and I will order some more before it’s taken off the market cause this stuff really work but I do work out and eat right so that probably helps this process move faster. I had to cause I truly believe it works
