I knew my schedule starting in May was going to be crazy busy with work & I also knew I wouldn’t want to be doing as much over the holidays, so I had to take advantage of the months preceding. You may not have those issues.

View Quoted Comment Honeymoon planning is key too! We already planned that one out and are keeping that budget separate from our wedding budget! If you can, I suggest figuring out where you want to go and seeing if you can pay monthly since your wedding is still over two years away! That way instead of a huge chunk of money, it’s a little a month until you go! We decided on a Sandals resort in Jamaica and will be “reserving” our spot this fall as well. That way we can pay a little each month so the remainder of the bill isn’t too expensive when it’s time to pay the rest of it!

This is excellent advice! It's similar to what my fiancé and I are doing. Got engaged 1/1/21 and we're not planning on getting married until October 2022 (it's changed a few times lol). It gives us time to decide on things like venue and vendors and save money!
