Anybody did DIY boudoir pics?

LadyHopkins, on May 31, 2012 at 5:18 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 19

How did you do them? How did they turn out? Is it too much to ask can I see some...Heck it doesn't even have to be you, just need some ideas of how to do this DIY style. Im totally nervous, I want the hubby to love them. I am making him my own version of Playboy magazine for his birthday (me being the only model, of course, lol) thanks.

My friend (BM) and I will be trying these ourselves as well.. She took my epics and I have helped her as well. So we will definatly "get to know each other" a little better lol.

I have heard just make sure you have good lighting for no shadows. Hope they turn out for you as well!

Hubby actually took mine himself. We were staying at a fancy hotel for a conference, so there was the big white bed, nice furniture, and several mirrors for good backdrops. However, he is a pretty good photographer (even has a side business).

OK it's nice to know I'm not the only person in the world planning on DIY. I am just really nervous of having someone I don't even know taking pictures of me 1/2 dressed. my MO has offered (ok I offered her ) to take the pictures for me. The only reason I want to do it is it looks fun, I think it's such a cute idea and it's not something my FH would expect of me at all. if anyone has any great pictures or ideas for this please let me know Smiley smile

I had my 20year daughter do mine! She did a wonderful job and DH loves them. She even used her Iphone to snap the pics! I felt so much more comfortable than with a stranger!

Thanks for posting this! I've seen a link on how to make ur own boudoir pics but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I really want to get them done but I dont have the extra money for that at this point. It'll be funny when I take them to get developed lol. Can't wait to see some examples!

I've done some w/ FH. I had to have some shots first lol. Not professional at all but he loves them for his *private* stash.

I dont mind posting a few for example, just dont judge lol jk I know you ladies wouldnt.

Oh kystle, I would suggest printing at staples so no one has to see. I actually tried walmart once, they printed some only to throw them away, telling me it's nudity & goes against law to print...

Did them at staples tho, no problem there

Just some examples. I'm not very photographic. But you can get really creative. wear different sets of lingere, many poses from simple to really sexy " i want to f you right now" photos lol. It's for you and your man, mostly for him so if he wants a certain naughty position or what have you, dont be afraid to try it!

I have a remote and a tripod for my camera, but you could just use a good height shelf and the self timer. I did some a long time ago for an ex boyfriend that way. really could have used better lighting then though....

Ladies dont be afraid to hire a pro either. Smiley smile Find a female photographer in your area so you feel more comfortable. Many of my ladies bring a female friend and have a glass of wine to take the edge off. I certainly allow some wine in my studio! He he

Lighting and posing is key, a pro will help you pose.

Its really fun! It will be so worth it. Check into it at least. Smiley laugh You may find one that runs a deal if you bring a friend to do pictures too. I do.

I did mine with a studio (I got a great Groupon Deal) and posted some example photos before. I JUST finished putting together the Photobook Present for my FH.

Most of the photos aren't touched up and some are outside. I just used www.mixbook.com to do the photo editing (hue, contrast, brightness) which can make all the difference if you're DIY the photos.

I can post a link to the book if people want to see it as an example.

I bookmarked that Project Wedding tutorial and think I may try it! If DIY doesn't work well then I'll consider paying. I just don't have the benjamins for a pro photographer, so would prefer to do it myself.

Since I've got over a year I'll keep an eye out for Groupons though!
