Most of the weddings I have been to or heard about are on the weekends but my wedding is actually on our first anniversary of being eloped which happens to land on a Tuesday! Most people who are invited were confused as to why we are doing a Tuesday wedding at the beginning of November but its a very sentimental date for us. Anybody else have weddings falling on a weekday?

We are doing a Thursday! We were able to get our venue so much cheaper, and even though some people may not be able to make it, it was worth cutting $2000 off the price!

We had our DW on a Monday, but only had 15 guests who were mostly retired family members and all said they would go before we booked our date/venue. If you’re not keeping your guest list very small, expect a potentially high decline rate for a non-weekend (Mon-Thur) wedding.

We’re doing a Thursday wedding. The major point being it’s significantly cheaper, and we’re going to be small, and my venue does small weddings on thursdays. I understand it can be inconvenient, but this is why we have save the dates. If people can’t make it, I understand, but it is also one day and I feel like the people who really want to be there will be there.

We are getting married on a Thursday night (next day is Good Friday and majority of our guests are already off from work). We did take a general survey of attendees to see if they'd mind but we received support across the board that everyone would be there no matter what day it was. We are only inviting 75 people which is really just our families and closest friends.

Yes, we are getting married on a Tuesday. The mayor only does weddings during the week and one Saturday per month. It is tourist season where we are going and expensive in general there so there was no advantage to planning it in the week other than more availability for dates.

Weekday is a little inconvenient. I have heard of a Friday- never a Tuesday. The Friday wedding is still inconvenient for us because 1. We live 8.5 hours away from it, 2. We have two kids and kids are not allowed. So we have to ask off Thursday & Friday, and find a sitter somewhere we don't even live.

That's the only experience that I have with weekday. But, if most of your guests are in town- this shouldn't be a problem.

    Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
I to am having my wedding on a weekday.
We decided to have it on New year's eve.
It just worked out that way. Many of our guests expressed their excitement to us. They shared how much they're looking forward to celebrating our wedding and the New Year with family and friends.

We're having a Tuesday wedding. We rented a villa in wine country for the 20 guests and are making it a vacation out of it since everyone is coming in from out of state.

We're getting married on a Monday -- December 30th, during the holiday break. Friends and family have generally been very excited and supportive because it fits into their already built in time off, but doesn't impede an actual holiday (and gives them the excuse to definitely take New Year's Eve off!). I'm a teacher, so people are generally pretty understanding about utilizing pre-set time off. Smiley smile
