Anyone been to Jamaica when the forecast said "Strong Thunderstorms?"

We are arriving at Sandals Royal Caribbean on Sunday, July 12. So far, the extended forecast says that there will be "strong thunderstorms" on July 13 and 14. I've heard that it rains a lot and is still beautiful in Jamaica, but "strong thunderstorms" worry me a bit. I know there is nothing I can do about it, but we are only there for 5 nights. It would suck so much if we couldn't even enjoy the island. Anyone been to Jamaica during rainy season and experienced "strong thunderstorms?"

We were supposed to get rained on every day with chances of thunderstorms. We had one day of rain which was more like a light sprinkle. It's the weather though, no way to control it so just roll with it.

We went last summer and were there at the end of July/beginning of August. It was calling for rain and storms the entire week. We had sunshine and beautiful weather (didn't rain once all week!). Fingers crossed this is the same weather you get

It stormed a couple of times while we were in Jamaica in May, but they were nowhere near as bad as we get at home. It actually felt great when it rained because it cooled off for a bit.

Thank you. I read around online and people said there were thunderstorms for about an hour starting at 2pm every day. Guess it was like an island-wide siesta time

We get strong thunderstorms in south Texas. Lots of wind. Lots of thunder. Lots of lightening. Lots of rain. Usually doesn't last the entire day. Sometimes just a few hours.

I don't have any weather-related advice, but wanted to say that we're going to Sandals Royal Caribbean in December! Please report back (BAH? Back and honeymooned?)!

We went in May and the forecast was Strong Thunderstorms the entire time.. It rained one afternoon and it wasn't bad enough to get out of the pool.

I'm leaving for Sandal's Royal Caribbean on July 26th. I'm hoping for beautiful weather. Can't wait to hear about your trip when you return!
