We did a Game of Thrones/Boho type of wedding. Added the signs showing "where to go to Kings Landing, Tha Wall, Winterfell, Casterly Rock, etc.", used some theme and recognizable songs for our cocktail hour and finalizing our ceremony, gave out goodie bags with golden chocolate coins because "A Lannister always pays his debts", kind of mixed some of our own writing with the vows of the series, decorating our table with Baratheon horns and the khaleesi and khal words, and when we cheared we said "The Sánchez Motta send their regards" (in spanish). Maybe you can start off with things like that. Best wishes!!

We’re doing a travel theme. We love to travel so it fit with us. I incorporated it into the wedding by having tables as cities instead of numbers, a suitcase for the card box, a globe for everyone to sign as the guest book, and small favor boxes with map prints on them. I think themed weddings are nice and fun.

We are doing an Italy theme; teals, yellow & Terra cotta, bold & rustic like Italy. Sunflowers and olive branches will be incorporated throughout; they are native to Tuscany. Olive oil favors. Pasta bar at the reception. We are considering using wine corks for escort card and table number holders. That’s all we have, so far. Not too overbearing.

I'm doing an enchanted forest fairytale. It's in a historic library, we're going to have tons of greenery, moss, wood (not many flowers) but I don't want it to be too theme-y. The colors are black, ivory, gold accent and greenery (from the plants/ferns). The save the dates were library punch cards and the invite look like a bookplate. My ladies will be in ivory full length dresses, and I'm wearing a lavender lace gown.

We did a Pirates of the Caribbean themed reception in a wine cave and a 1960’s local reception (at a winery but I wish we chose the ballroom on the Queen Mary).

If you want to do a theme, it really helps to choose a venue that already fits that theme.

Hey date twin!!!! We’re not deliberately doing a theme. But, the spot we selected is a non-traditional wedding venue that has a 1920’s vibe and decor. And, of course, I immediately thought of The Harlem Renaissance too. Although we aren’t purposefully doing a theme, it only makes sense for some of the decor we add to coordinate with the style of the room. So it will be subtle, mainly including the use of ostrich feathers, warm mood lighting and in our centerpiece....The room completely creates a theme on its own.

    We did!

We themed it around our favorite baseball team, the Phillies.

Our STDs featured us in our jerseys and hats, at a baseball field, as well as "nice" clothes.

Our invitations were themed around the team, from an Etsy seller I had come across years and years ago.

Our colors were red, blue, and purple. The first two are team colors, the third is my favorite...and conveniently a blend of red and blue.

We DIY'd our centerpieces - we made foam baseballs and stuck the flowers in them, and then the table numbers were our favorite players' numbers.

The cake was white with red "stitching" (and a comedy/drama mask, to nod at our other passion, theatre). We topped it with 3 versions of the team's mascot, the Phanatic.

I changed out the lacing in my corset with red lacing, so it looked like baseball stitching.

Our vows included baseball, and our officiant actually spoke about our love of baseball. We recessed out to "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" instrumental.

OH! And a friend sent me a surprise sign for our sweetheart table, which we then put DH's mascot stuffed animal on as a crowning glory!

It sounds like a lot, but, honestly, it was fairly subtle, yet unmistakably baseball themed. We loved it, it was great, everyone recognized it as "us", and we couldn't be happier about it.

We're doing a fairytale theme! I'm so excited about it! I'm wearing a big ball gown with a train that makes me feel like a princess, wearing a tiara, our invites were Beauty and the Beast themed but we had the colors on them changed from red and blue to light pink and light purple (our colors), our cake will look like a castle with a mini castle as a cake topper, the center pieces are carriages with flowers and candles in them, on top of a large mirror with tiny slippers around them, our card "box" is a large carriage, our guest "book" is a castle shaped drop box where everyone signs a heart and drops it in the castle, our champagne flutes have 2 different types of crowns on them, our ring bearers are carrying 2 small boxes that will be painted to look like fairytale books, and most of our songs are Disney love songs. The parents and men will be walking down to You'll be in my heart (Tarzan), bridesmaids will walk down to Can you feel the love tonight, and I'm walking down to Tale as old as time. We'll most likely be walking out to "I see the light" (Tangled). I can't wait!

We did a Symphonic Rock theme. GNR is both one of our favorites. One of our first dates was seeing Requiem in symphony.

-His entrance music and our exist music were pieces by Mozart

    - I walked down the aisle to a cover of November Rain by the Amadeus Electric Quartet.

-Our reception was at a place called Mozart's Cafe which incorporated structural European architecture similar to the reception space in the November Rain music video.

-Single red roses for center pieces.

-First dance to Patience by GNR

We had some other elements as well but I think it really showed both sides of our personalities well. A touch of class with an edge.

We are doing a gothic dream catcher wedding. Like a dark bohemian theme type. Basically we are incorporating our favorite colors (Green and Black) into everything and I will have a black and green wedding dress with a black crown and veil and she will have a black and green suit. All of our BM's will wear black with silver sashes and then have silver lights everywhere. We're going for formal and elegant, but...we will see how much money we can save lol.
