Anyone doing lantern centerpieces?

Lulu, on May 29, 2013 at 7:43 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 15

Wanted to see who else was doing lanterns for centerpieces and what else you are putting on the tables with them? Pics would be great. I'm doing lanterns but I don't know if a lantern sitting on a table will be enough!

I am but I don't have the stuff just the idea in my head... I am putting the lantern on a mirror (I prefer a square shape) with some small candles (4) going around it and probably some pedals of flowers OR I have considered just flowers around the lantern on top of the mirror... I like simple.

Pretty similar to Misty. I'm doing white lanterns with a candle that's one of my wedding colors inside. Probably putting a mirror under it, and putting some rose petals around it.

I like simple as well. With that plus table numbers and menu cards, I feel like there will be plenty.

I have (in my head) white lanterns with a round blue candle inside and 5 votive candles around it. Maybe wrapping the hook at top with a flower (the stem would wrap around it). I'm not a fan of mirrors.

There are several here doing it. There was a thread or two you could search for.

I'm thinking to do lanterns with flowers pouring out of them. I've seen some awesome ideas on pinterest.

Oh. There will also be a menu and a wine bottle table number. Probably some tealights as well.

Http://www.lanterncity.com/enchanted-amethyst-candle-lamp this is the one I am using my colors are purple with an accent of blue and silver. I saw these and fell in love. There are also some really cute ones on ikea's website (and quiet affordable).

I am! We are getting married in October, so the centerpieces are going to be fall-ish but maybe this will give you some ideas. We are doing the lanterns, which are a brown-reddish color, with votive candles inside; a tall square glass vase with chinese lantern branches and curly willow branches as well as crystal spray branches, one small pumpkin spraypainted gold on each table, and then this gemstone mix to spread across the center of the table that has little leaf shapes in it. I wish I had a photo to show you. It sounds like a lot but I promise you it's not. Smiley smile I'm very excited about it. I got the gemstone mix at peir one imports --- it can be used for several things such as filling vases as well.

Me too! My theme is an enchanted forest/garden. I opted not to do a diy centerpiece because I have a lot of those kinds of tasks on my list and I want my centerpieces to look awesome. But I'm having the florist put a single candle in the lantern with mood moss, vines, mushrooms and flower blossoms! They will spill out of the lantern and I will put small tlights around them.
