Anyone else feel guilty about not getting to talk to your guests?

Everything was fine with the timeline of the day until we got to our venue and as soon as our start time of 7 PM hits, I saw the line of guests form waiting to greet us and I had a moment of panic. We had a receiving line of myself than my husband and both sets of our parents. I try to be sincere and greet everyone and say hello to their guests and express how excited we were to see them as they were handing us gifts and envelopes but it was so exhausting just one interaction after another after another. Before we know it we are lining up for introductions and then they start serving soup and salads and we go into speeches and I try to eat my dinner i’ll try not to freak out about the impending first dance and cake cutting. Hubby and I were kind of nervous about this part so it kind of consumed our thoughts until it was over. Then the dancing started and of course four songs and I had to leave the room to go take a medicine so I was gone for about 15 minutes. And that time I missed so many good songs apparently that I was actually bummed. Then I start dancing With people throughout the night and honestly so many guest left without me even getting to talk to them after they walked in. I have an incredible amount of guilt for not finding the time to even go up to the table to exchange pleasantries. Also the train of my dress got stepped on and would not hold up anymore so I spent the whole night miserable trying to put on a smile while holding up my dress and so I couldn’t really dance properly have a good time because I was so confined by the dress. Overall I was mentally exhausted and I knew the day was going to go by quick because people told me it would but I did not realize just how fast it went. I didn’t get to talk to 90% of my guests Since I was trying to keep the dance floor busy and dance with those who are out there. Anyone else feel guilt after their wedding? Should I reach out and apologize to people?

Someone had a similar post recently so I’ll share my same advice: write a very personal thank you card to every guest. Really go out of your way to personalize each and thank them for coming. I’d get the thank-yous out ASAP.

Time can definitely get away from you at your wedding, and I'm sure your guests understood!! ❤️

Like Cool said, I'd just make sure to write personal and heartfelt thank you notes to each guest! 💌
