Anyone else feel hideous in their wedding dress?

I just have to say that reading thru all the posts, I am truly touched (but not at all surprised) by all the honest, heartfealt, encouraging comments. You girls ROCK!

Ok my turn...Amanda, 1st of all you truly look beautiful in your dress! All thats missing is your "wedding day glow".

I commend you for finding the courage to seek help and conquer the fears brought on by your past.

What you are describing about not being able to leave the house is a real condition, Agoraphobia (if you're in counseling already, Im sure you know). Usually people who suffer from this phobia find it hard to be in social situations AT ALL. But girl... you found yourself a man! And now you're planning a wedding, which I'm assuming there will be guests. That is huge!

I applaud you in taking the steps to overcome your past and move on to a bright new future!! That is not an easy task! You posted here looking for encouragement, and ended up being an inspiration! Hats off to you Amanda!

You look gorgeous. Period. Keep working on getting better mentally, so you can show that asshole that he can't steal your happiness and life from you. Girl You look great in your dress!!! It's flattering and hits all the right curves! Promise!!! None of us fellow brides would lie...maybe a jealous bridesmaid or single girl lol but not a bride! We all wanna look gorgeous in our dress...it's the most important dress we'll ever wear! I was scared to go try on dresses at first bc I didn't wanna feel Bad and not feel pretty bc my weakness Is my arms and I prayed about it and have been tryin to lose inches and when I found my dress last Thursday I didn't feel like a line backer lol...I felt amazing and beautiful and I was so thrilled and proud of how I looked! And then I posted my dress on here and all the compliments made me feel even more beautiful! So trust us! You look amazing!!

We don't even know you so there is no reason for us to lie to you lol. And when you look in a mirror at yourself it is easy to look at what you think are your flaws and to pick yourself apart. Your photographer is going to capture some very happy intimate moments and you will look amazing

FWIW, you look really pretty in that dress. Not sure how much it helps to hear other people say it, but it's true. (And you're not fat, not at all. I've been fat, I know fat, and you're not fat.)

Amanda - you are gorgeous! I'm being 100% honest right now. I think you are a beautiful girl. And that dress is just gorgeous. I am so sorry you have dealt with so much and struggle with your self esteem. I truly hope that you are able to see how beautiful you really are one day, especially on your wedding day! Hopefully all the wonderful comments here will help you to start to see yourself in a new light. No one on an online forum has any reason to lie to you so take to heart just how many people here think you're beautiful. I'm rooting for you to start loving yourself! I know from experience that therapy can do wonders so stick with it and good luck!!

Next time you look in the mirror and start to get down on yourself I want you to do something for me...ready? STICK YOUR TONGUE OUT AT YOUR REFLECTION! Hopefully it will make you laugh - then while you are laughing look at yourself again. You will see a vibrant, beautiful person staring back at you! I promise!
