Anyone else getting married on a weekday?

PattyCakes, on January 31, 2014 at 2:13 PM

I am getting married on a Monday, which might sound a little crazy.... But it's a small wedding and it was $2000 cheaper to do the Monday instead of the Sunday. I was wondering, any other girls out their shaking off the whole Saturday thing?

Britt Morgan, not every venue doesn't charge a difference. If I got married at my venue on a Saturday I am required to spend 25k

@Heather A, our venue is Citi Field, so we had to find a day that pretty much worked for the stadium itself. It couldn't be during october, which I wanted in the first place. Then they changed the date twice more before we settled for September 6th. It was all pre-contract when all the date changing was happening so I just had to deal with it. I have to say though, they were not as expensive as half of the other venues Ive looked at and they have helped SO much with everything. But anyways, any day I picked would be the same exact price.

Wow, a couple of you girls are pretty dang rude.

First off, it's a BRUNCH wedding. Our ceremony is at 9:00 or 10:00am and reception starts at 10:00 or 11:00. Secondly, I doubt that the alcohol will be missed because our guest list is made up only of those closest to us. They are excited for us and our marriage, not free food and booze. Who gets trashed at noon anyways??

And I can garentee you all that our wedding is going to be beautiful and a lot of fun, so suck it.

Wait, so it's not even in the evening? People have to take time off work to attend? Have you talked to your guests? My BIL is in construction and he would lose a ton of money from just one day. Gotta think of your guests too, not just you saving a few bucks.

We're getting married on a Friday. We actually saved a lot of money by choosing Friday instead of Saturday.

We don't have any guests that would have trouble coming on a Monday... In fact, my father and Aunt have Mondays off anyways.

I have run the day by everyone and they are all super excited. I don't see why it would be a problem if no one has an issue with it. Besides, half the wedding is coming from Puerto Rico for the week. So whether it fell on a Sunday or Monday doesn't really matter to them. *shrug*

Friday wedding and as a result, 50% off of the venue and per person rate.

We're getting married on a Tuesday afternoon, primarily because it happened to fit the "easy to remember date" requirement for FH (4114 - April 1, 2014). Extra quirky bonus is that it's April Fool's Day (no, we're not superstitious and we don't care). Our guests are fine with the unusual date/time.

We are getting married on a Tuesday. No holidays before or after, but the date has sentimenal value. Thankfully I haven't heard any negative feedback about it, but we are planning to start the ceremony shortly before sundown (it will be outdoors) so maybe that will change it up a bit.

We are getting married on a Friday and the difference in price with our venue is 20,000 which gives me a lot more room to spend money on other things Smiley laugh

Not to mention we can have our gift opening and tea on Sunday
