Anyone else have a super casual proposal?

We had decided that we were getting married and had started planning. I knew he was getting the ring the day he got it because wd had already discussed it.

That same night, we put our kids in bed and as i walked down the hallway, he said "hey" (so i would turn around and look) and so i turned around and there he was on one knee and asked.

I don't have pictures, and it was very simple, but I loved it.

H didn't actually propose. We just kinda decided we should get married lol.

FH and I had been talking about getting engaged for a few months and right before Easter he took me ring shopping. (He knows I would love anything he picked out because it came from him but I'm picky and he wanted it to be perfect). The next morning he kindly asked to see my ring right after we woke up and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. So id say it was pretty casual. It was special to us though because it happened in our home.

FW and I were headed out to dinner for my birthday and the plan was for her to propose at dinner but her nerves got in the way and she just handed me a Bath & Body Works bag and was like Happy Birthday. There were 2 cards, one in a pink envelope and one in a blue one. She told me to open the blue one first, which was a nice loving card and at the bottom said "will you do me a favor and say Yes" ... I was like yes what and she told me to keeping digging in the bag and the ring was in the bottom.

Yep, we were about to go to bed on Christmas eve and I was getting ready to go to bed. No pictures. And thank god he didn't have an audience because my reaction involved some obscenities hahaha. I wouldn't have it any other way, he did what he felt was right. There is WAY to much pressure on people to create the "perfect" proposal, I feel like sometimes it loses meaning. Everyone is different.

Yep we had a very low key proposal. It was a Sunday morning and FH jumped out of bed early and made pancakes. I'm always asking him to make pancakes and he never jumps out of bed early or quickly. After we ate I was washing dishes and he went to his man cave so I assumed he was going to play his games but he came out into the kitchen a few minutes later and put the ring box in front of me on the counter. I literally said "what the f*ck is that?" And then I cried while I made him put the ring on my finger. He put it on the wrong finger first. He never got down on a knee, he never actually asked me the question. I had bed head, no pants and morning breath standing in our kitchen. We have no pictures. It was perfect and he knew I wouldn't want a big fanfare with people paying attention.

FH's proposal was very casual. He asked in our apartment, totally private, no one around - which is good since I ugly cried my eyes out.

Apparently he considered proposing to me on stage at one of his bands gigs over the summer. They play a lot of street fests downtown Chicago, and draw pretty huge crowds. I would have died if he'd asked in front of a thousand something people. I mean I would have said yes, but then I would have died!

Casual and private was the perfect way to do it

We just always talked about it then when I told him I saw this venue he told me to book it (we weren't even engaged yet). Then a month later we decided to go to the mall to pick out the ring but before that he says "I guess I should ask you to marry me, do I need to get down on one knee"

We were sitting on the couch at our apartment. He arguable didn't even really propose, he made some reference to after we are married or our future, and as had been my recent habit (because he knew I was annoyed that he would regularly mention "after we are married"/call his family my in laws/etc. even though we weren't even engaged), I responded with "are you asking me to marry you?" and he said ".... yes. I am."

Also we were naked because we had sex shortly before. I typically leave that part out when telling the story. So yeah..... no pictures, and no ring, as he hadn't really planned it (although turns out he had been looking at rings, but couldn't decide what he thought I would like best).

Another in bed proposal here. No knee. I actually don't really remember all he said because I didn't realize what was going on. I was annoyed he flipped the light on when we were trying to go to sleep. oops.

FH and I had been together for almost 13 years and had finally decided to get married after lots of talks. We had already tentatively started making plans and picked out a ring together. I told him that even though we made the decision to get married very casually, when the ring came I wanted a 'proposal' with a nice sentence attached to it! I was a little surprised because the ring we ordered was supposed to take two weeks to arrive, and it came it two days!

It was New Years Eve Day and I had worked that morning. We are long distance and he had kept me up late getting in early that morning. I was napping on the couch. He was watching Mythbusters. I woke up and he was like let's open presents after this show. Opened the card and he had written will you marry me? Said yes. Looked over he was shaking. Asked if he was sure. He said he thought so. My ring was in the gift bag. I even had to put it on myself. Looking back .... it's totally us and I wouldn't change a thing.

FH proposed New Year's Day. I was in bed sleeping and he woke me up. He said that it was a new year which meant new beginnings and asked if I wanted to marry him. I was half asleep but after I realized what was happening I said yes and he asked if I wanted the ring and I said well yeah. He was gonna propose at midnight but I went to bed early so I ruined his plan and he didn't want to wait any longer so that's why he asked in the morning.

Mine was super casual, it was perfect for me!!

NotFroofy and I had been together for 8 years, but it had only become possible for us to get legally married three days before I proposed. So we really hadn't talked about marriage at all. And the legal status of a same-sex marriage was very unclear at the time--we could easily have found ourselves unable to ever get a divorce because our home state did not recognize us as married, for example. So I was really nervous about asking--wanting to make it clear that it was okay if she wanted to stay with me for life, but didn't want to get married.

I was so obviously nervous that she thought I was mad at her about something. I finally sat down on the day bed in her study and blurted out, "So what would you think of the idea of us getting married?" No down on one knee, no declarations of love, just that. Fortunately, she said yes anyway!

Well I found my ring in his sock drawer a few weeks before our big Vegas trip lol We had a nice dinner and saw a show. At the end of our night we went on the gondola at the Venetian.. As we made it to the front near the strip he got down and asked me. We had a huge crowd cheering and yelling.. keep in my mind the entire night I already knew his plan so it was no shock to me.. to this day he still sucks at surprises

My proposal was super causal...and perfect

We spent a lovely day at the San Diego zoo (with my daughter, FH's mother and his brother) Then after I put my daughter to sleep, FH had arranged for his mom to watch her so he could take me out at night. We did a little bar hopping in Baja and then he took me to grab a burrito haha, it was like 3 am by this point. The final stop was at Imperial Beach in San Diego. We were the only ones there and we sat down on blanket and he just took out the ring box and gave it to me. No getting down on one knee. No words. It was perfect.

My FH proposed me at my house while I was cooking breakfast for my 1 yr old daughter. The funny thing is that he was acting all weird and asking too much question which I felt uncomfortable. I started to ask a lot of questions until He couldn't hold it anymore he blurted out. Of course I felt bad and after he proposed me I started crying and told him I messed up everything. I wanted to be romantic lol. I just such a baby. He still ask me if I wanna to marry him at random times and places.PS he does that just to make me feel special and not be guilty. n_n

We were in our house, about to head to see friends for dinner before we left for Vegas the next day. He had made a book safe with the ring inside.. we were about to walk out of the door and he gave me the book, by the time I was done reading the letter inside, he was on his knee.

Just us. In the first home we shared together. It was perfect.

We were on a family vacation in Myrtle Beach and had just finished eating wings. We were walking around Barefoot Landing and he was kind of quiet. I thought he was upset because his ex kept calling his daughter. I told the kids to just give him space. Next thing I know he's on 1 knee. Guess he had other things on his mind!
