Anyone else have a super casual proposal?

Our proposal was at home after dinner while I was doing the dishes.. and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way! It was true, it was honest, it was us... sometimes the over-the-top, elaborate proposals are bit more about show-boating than being true to the sentiment.

I walked in from work on a tuesday.

he greeted me at the door. started telling me how much he loved me and what he loved about me, and then did it right there, in our living room. he hid the ring in the box in plain sight on the desk behind him.

completely blindsided me. it was intimate, casual, and i wouldnt have it any other way!

DH proposed to me at home as well. He always said NEVER on a major holiday so I'd be surprised. So imagine my surprise when he proposed on Christmas day AFTER we exchanged gifts. We were going to his mom's for brunch and he got down on one knee before we left. I was shocked and I wouldn't change a thing. Proposals don't have to be super elaborate!

Yes, I was coming out the bathroom and FH was on his knee. I was confused at first, then I realized what was happening. I always told him I want a private proposal with just the two of us.

Ours was in the car, while we were out running errands. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. I always said not on a holiday and not around anyone else!

FH proposed in our kitchen. I overslept, had just gotten out of the shower wearing a bathrobe and a towel in my hair. He kept saying he wanted to talk to me about something and I "very nicely" kept saying shut up, I'm late! I need help getting my lunch together. He finally got me to sit still and went on with this cute little speech and got down on one knee. My first reaction? Stop kidding, I don't have time for jokes. He was so good, just looked at me and said, "I'm serious." Ensue the waterworks. I love how he did it, I wouldn't change anything

He had a proposal planned but then it snowed and we couldn't go out to dinner. We were at Great Wolf Lodge in PA. He decided to do it at the bar in the resort. Nothing fancy. I'm kinda glad he didn't do it at dinner with his mom, kids, my sister and niece there. It was special because it was just us and no on had any clue. It was perfect!!!

My fiance proposed to me at his apartment as well, he gave me roses and a huge teddy bear, no pictures or nothing

Ours had some drama surrounding it, but was very casual in itself. He proposed to me in the living room at the condo we were staying at on vacation in Ocean City, Maryland. He was planning to do it at dinner later that week, but some circumstances led to him doing it sooner.

I was glad to have the private moment together, and the condo that we always stay in is even more special to us now.

Like I said earlier in the thread, I really appreciate reading these. I think there's so much pressure to have an Instagram-worthy proposal story, but the intimate and private moments are so, so special as well <3

We had just moved in our new place and he popped the question in our newly moved in living room with dog by my side and his daughter handing me the ring. He was down on one knee when I looked up. I laughed and cried at the same time. It was funny how his daughter gave me the ring. She said "Can I give her the ring now?" She is 3 years old and cute. She would not let go of the ring box. She said it was special. I would not change that proposal at all, it would not be the same without my future step daughter there. It was so us.

FH and I like to wander. And by that I mean, get in the car and go wherever the wind takes us. It one of these nights that we ended up at the observatory on the north side of town. I was awe struck by the huge Victorian mansions that surrounded it. We were just walking around the grounds - it was late so we couldn't go inside - when he sat on a boulder and asked 'So you know I love you, right?'

Some awkward babbling by yours truly later, he pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him. We then hopped back in the car and got celebratory pancakes.

My DH proposed to me in Hanzhou over the West Lake. You know the city in China where the 3 UCLA basketball players shoplifted from a LV store. It was just the 2 of us and we celebrated with all you can eat sushi, sake and beer.

Yes. FH asked me on my birthday in our living room after we'd had dinner and watched a pretty depressing movie on Netflix.

We were taking our nieces and daughters to Six Flags when he proposed on the drive there. I thought he was joking because he asked the girls if they thought we should get married lol they were screaming they we're so excited to be apart of it.

My FH proposed on Halloween after I got finished handing out candy. Turned around and he was on one knee lol

I asked him to go clean the dog's ears and then five minutes later the dog runs into the living room wearing a t-shirt saying "Will you marry dad?" and then FH comes in and gets down on one knee and asks me to marry him and I laughed hysterically at him, but then of course I said yes

On the same boat!! My FH popped the question in the car after dinner in a restaurant. The dinner was very nice but I feel like my story isn't romantic at all... I was so happy tho we have been together for almost 5 years .... I'm so excited to marry my honey.

I wouldn't say ours was super casual, but it was definitely low key and so perfect for us. We were at home carving pumpkins for Halloween. I was in a mismatched outfit with no bra on. My hair was a mess and I was hangry and crumpy. Then I saw his pumpkin.
