Anyone else have a super casual proposal?

I was watching TV while laying in bed. The ring had come in the mail that day and he was too excited to wait. He stood beside me and asked. Funny part is he was so nervous and messed up his words. We had been together for 7 years at that point and had discussed marriage for more than 2 years. He was just so cute. We are not the overly romantic type and I think my proposal was perfect for me because I finally got to say yes.

Ours was super casual as well and I loved it since it was very "us". He had plans to wait until just before our trip to Ireland a few weeks later but that day he picked the ring up from the jeweler and he just couldn't wait. We had just gotten home from a family dinner, he walked the dog while I got into comfies and put the tv on and when he came back inside he just did it. It was perfect lol. It's totally fine that you had just a special quiet moment instead of a big to do. Personally I would have hated something very public. I don't like attention on me.

I knew it was going to happen, we picked the ring out together and he planned a trip to Yosemite and I knew the hike he planned to propose at.. we didn't plan on almost dying on the hike and running out of water, or that my finger was so swollen from the hours of hiking so the ring didn't even fit, but it was all still worth it! Everyone asks me if I was disappointed that I knew all of it before it happened but I wasn't, I would have hated to be surprised at some restaurant or public place in front of other people. And it was really fun designing the ring with him.

I just got engaged on Friday!! We went on our first vacation together for a week and Friday was our last day there. We went with his family, they said he had plans to do it through out the trip but nothing was working lol. I woke up to a ring in my face Friday morning and him asking me to marry him, lol...super not traditional but exactly how I pictured he'd do it

My FH proposed when I was in the shower... Scared the crap out of me! But of course I said yes. needless to say there are no pictures lol. He didn't even have a ring yet, we picked the ring together about a month later.

FH and I were sleeping over at his parents' house. I was in my pjs with my hair wrapped up, looking a mess. I was heading to bed, he came to "tuck me in" and popped out the ring he swore he wouldn't buy for me. Meanwhile his mom was downstairs frying something, lol. I ugly criedddd HARD.

It was our 3 year anniversary on the 1st of June. I was listening to scary stories on YouTube, and FH came home from work. We've had promise rings since we've pretty much been together.

We say "Happy Anniversary" to each other, and he asks "How'd you like to have something new on your left hand?" He gives me the box, I open it to see the ring. He asks, "Will you be my wife?"

I say yes!

I definitely didn't have an elaborate proposal, but wasn't quite as casual as some others, either. We were at dinner while on vacation, and he pretended he wanted to take a selfie. He hit "record" on the phone instead of taking a picture, then proposed on video. No elaborate proposal, but it's a pretty unique idea and we have everything on video.

FH proposed on a hike and didn't bring the ring even though he was almost 100% positive that that's when he'd propose to me. I was anxious to finish the 3 mile hike (we were hardly halfway) and drive the 45 minutes back home so I could see my beautiful ring!

Well, apparently I kept messing up his plans when I'd change our dinner plans. SO the next morning, he tried to slip it on my finger while I was sleeping so that I'd wake up with it. I woke up while he was putting it on lol. Still a good day, and I wouldn't change it

Yes. I didn't really like my proposal. I was upset for a few months but got over it after reading about what's really important: spending the rest of my life by someone I love.

Yes! We had been talking about getting engaged for a while and we had looked at rings. I was pretty sure he had bought one and had it in the house. We went away for a romantic weekend in NYC and I was sure it was going to happen sometime then, nothing. We ended up getting engaged the day after Easter. I didn't know, but when we were at my parents' for Easter, my FH took my dad aside and asked for his permission. The next morning we were both getting ready for work on Monday. I was literally sitting on our bed looking up the weather forecast for the day on my phone and FH comes in from the hallway and says, I don't want to wait anymore. I look up from my phone to see what he's talking about and he's down on his knee with the ring out. I look at him and say, "wait, you're doing this now?!? You have the ring out and everything." I said yes and we hugged and kissed, and then had to head into work! I had a meeting I needed to attend in the morning, but was able to take a half day to grab lunch with my parents to celebrate (FH was at work). He had the ring for a while and he was just waiting until the next time he saw my dad to ask for his blessing. He was going to wait and do something more romantic, but he said when we were driving home from Easter that he didn't want to wait any longer, he decided to sleep on it and when he woke up he decided to just do it. We both have a hard time keeping surprises from each other, so I understand his excitement. It was definitely not the proposal I expected, but I'm in love with the man who did it, and that's all that counts.

Well I've had my "engagement ring" for a few years because it was MY grandmothers and she gave it to be for getting my Ph.D. It's a pretty large diamond so there was no way I was getting another diamond ring (and I have my other grandmother's engagement ring too on my right hand haha). But I had worn it on my left hand third finger for a few years.

Since I didn't want a ring, I told FH I wanted him to propose with a dog (our dog). So he tied a bow around our dog and got on one knee. He also made a special breakfast. I only changed the ring when i got it resized a few weeks later.

We just started talking about getting married and it led into planning. We got a ring just make it "official" even though we were technically engaged.

FH proposed to me at our B&B while on vacation in September. I had just gotten out of the shower and was in a towel. We didn't take any pictures lol

I proposed to him. Even asked his mom for permission and got a ring and everything. He cried, I cried. It was great! But I always get side eye when ppl ask me "how did he pop the question?" And my answer is "actually, I did" but that doesn't matter, we're happy!

Don't let anybody bring you down about it.

My fiance got down on one knee in the dark bedroom while I was half asleep, it took me a min to even figure out what was going on because I couldn't completely see. Very surprised but no pictures or elaborate planning.

I got proposed to at the gym right after his class was done and i was all sweaty! It's where we met so i wouldn't of wanted it any other way!
