Anyone else have a super casual proposal?

Yes! I have to say that he had planned to propose the weekend prior when we were out having a fun weekend at home. The ring did not come in and he had to go back to Oregon for work. I flew up there the next weekend to see my brother who is very ill with the evil demon C, and it was My FH's Bday. My mind was in a sad spot and he was talking to me while I was brushing my teeth in the hotel room. He got down on one knee right outside the bathroom door and said that all he wanted for his Birthday was a yes. With everything going on with my bro, he knew it would be a sad weekend, but he could not hold on to the ring and not put it on my finger. Not the exciting proposal story, but it's still so sweet. I actually prefer that no one was around. I think I almost fainted and had to sit down. Whirlwind of emotion.

Oh... one more thing. Cross your fingers for me, I'm going up to see my brother again and FH is meeting me at the airport. I'm getting in late and have reserved a room at the same hotel and put in a request for the same room # so that at least I can have a little pic of where it happened

We were talking in FH's dorm (we were so young!) & he just said "wanna get married?" I said sure! Then we ordered a pizza. I used to get embarrassed it wasn't romantic but it was a sweet moment & I love it

Mine was super casual. My FH passed the ring to me through a kiss. He didn't even do the traditional "Will you marry me?". But that is fine with me. I knew it was coming as we had went ring shopping together cuz he wanted to make sure I got the ring I wanted. He was traditional when it came to asking for my dad's permission.

Mine was on the floor few days before Christmas opening presents. One of my presents he said check the size to make sure it fits, so I did. I told him it was the right size & put the pants down. Here it turns out, the tag was in the ring. I actually held the ring, pulled the tag out, looked at it & set the pants down. I never noticed the ring. In the end he had to show it to me. I thought he was just being an ass & it was a bad joke. I actually got mad at him lol. Turns out he was serious! Nothing sweet or romantic about it.

I was away in AZ on a Work trip, a few weeks later he had to travel to Miami for Work. He had purchased the ring while I was away and had it shipped to Miami. We decided to go out for Halloween (which we never do) with a big group of friends. The whole time he kept saying how he needed to drink... he just kept drinking and drinking (liquid courage) Before we left to go to another spot he proposed a toast, he started talking about me and it just didn't click until he was on his knee. Looking back I don't know how I missed everyone taking pics and video. It was completely unexpected and thought out! Our pictures are great because everyone is in costume. It was perfect!

My FH took me for a walk on a trail, complained he pulled something in his leg, and then proposed to me by the river in the freezing cold. It was so cheesy, but the effort is what counts, right?

My fiance was staring at me one morning when I woke up and said let's go pick out a ring. I'd like to spend the rest of my life with you. And that's my story lol

All my friends have cool stories. Mine was after a nap he said he wanted to give me gift and if I didn't like it he could return it. Saw ring and said yes. It was Easter so we then called everyone up and told them.

My FH walked back into our bedroom after going to the bathroom and I was waiting on my knee with his promise ring in hand and said "I know it's not special and I know that we dont have rings or anything but I want to spend the rest of my life with you". It more shocks people that the girl proposed than how the proposal happened.

My FH and I designed a custom ring to be ready for our anniversary. The jeweler couldn't get it done in time so I had to wait. (I knew when he picked it up) then we were planning a trip to Stratford, Ontario for my birthday a month and a half later. I was sure that is when he was planning it. He was trying to be sneaky which he is no good at so I was sure. So mid-July, two weeks after our anniversary we made dinner and he wanted a bunch of pictures for Facebook to recreate our anniversary. I rolled my eyes and went along with it. Then we made dessert and just after he set it down, he got down on one knee. I was so surprised/ excited / nervous my first words were "you're not serious?!" Eventually I let him ask me, I cried and we kissed. Then we watched Game of Thrones.

Some of the cutest stories I've heard were super low key proposals. My uncle had planned a romantic proposal by the water but my aunt was too full after dinner to take a walk so he proposed in their hotel room. A cute and funny story! My cousin proposed to his wife on the couch in their living room one day. She was doing work on her computer and didn't even notice that he was holding the ring for several minutes! My dad proposed to my mom while they were putting my sister to sleep--my mom was so shocked she didn't think she heard him correctly. I think these stories are sweet and endearing in their own way. They're not over the top but they're still great and romantic stories because they tell the story of how two people decided that they wanted to spend their lives together. If people are disappointed, point them in the direction of the rom-com video section and tell them to live out their fantasies there. Lol.

My FH took us shopping and he ran off to "game stop" and we left after he got back. I put my son in his seat and sat in front buckled up and looked at him and he asked me if I liked this one and had the ring. All I could say was "what?!" Lol eventually I said yes after it sunk in! He said he had a different plan but he's soooo impatient at times hahha

H knows that I'm really good at figuring out everything that's happening around me. We had plans to go Christmas shopping on a Saturday evening. He came to my house dressed in his sweats and t-shirt as he normally would for a casual day of shopping. I was still getting ready when he asked me to come into the living room. He grabbed both of my hands and started telling me all of these really sweet important things. He then gets on one knee and proposed to me. I'm so glad it wasn't in a public place where people were watching.

My FH asked me while we were outside talking about trucks. He didn't have a ring instead he said he wanted me to pick it out since I'm going to be wearing it forever. So cute!!! Nothing over the top we aren't like that.

FH and I went ring shopping so I knew he had the ring. He later proposed in our living room the same day because he couldn't wait. I cried so many happy tears, I would have not had any other way.

First time it was a legal move/decision. We decided it had to be done for Military housing so we got married legally with no rings a week later. I was 8 mo prego. I’m divorced from him now.

My FH now we went to dinner at “our spot” like always on our anniversary. He kept telling me to have a drink-I rarely drink- and he was obsessing over the fact the seaside Ferris wheel they had out front was not working. But year before it was down too and he knew I wanted to ride. So since it wasn’t working as we left we went out front to their photo op spot the restaurant has set up for a selfie and as I started to snap a pic he pulled out a ring. 3rd anniversary. I asked if he was for real. Lol

We went shopping for the ring together. I picked it out myself and then we announced our engagement a few days later when I went to pick up the ring. I thought it was great!

My FH purposed while we were eating in between stops on a turtle dive in Hawaii. He did not get down on one knee he simply asked and handed me the ring. I handed the ring back and told him I would put it on after we got done with the second dive.
