Anyone else having a short engagement? 8 months or less?

Why did you and FH decide to have a short engagement? Are you happy with the decision or regretting it now? What do you think are the pros and cons to having a short engagement? FH and I got engaged on Christmas and are getting married June 13th, so our engagement will be a little less than 6...

Are you happy with the decision or regretting it now? What do you think are the pros and cons to having a short engagement?

FH and I got engaged on Christmas and are getting married June 13th, so our engagement will be a little less than 6 months. Our dream venue had a few remaining 2015 dates for a huge discount, so we booked. I plan events for work (much bigger events, in much shorter time), so I was confident that I could pull it off. So far planning is going very well! I love it.

The only thing I don't like is how short of a time we get to be engaged. You only get to be engaged once, so I feel kind of sad to be rushing it.

I got engaged on January 17th and I am getting married on June 7th of this year. We decided on a short engagement, because we knew we wanted a small and intimate ceremony and dining after. We are having a bigger engagement party to include friends and extended family. However, we have been together for years, we grew up together and now that we are this step, we felt no need to wait. Planning has actually been going well, times that I am over it, but it's not something that has been impacted by time - just normal wedding planning stuff.

I couldn't even imagine being engaged for more than a year, my excitement might push me over the edge.

We got engaged a few days after christmas and the wedding is september of this year. It's short since we both are getting out of the military and jumping right into school. It just makes more sense to do it now since financially we are good, I can't say how we will be after school, and we'll be moving to utah from florida and back again when we graduate.

Sometimes I feel a little rushed and a little young but really its the best choice and we knew we were going to get married anyway.
